The packed winter football calendar charges ahead this week, including a thrilling Wednesday featuring action involving some of the top clubs across Europe.
Fans are in for a treat as the English Premier League, La Liga, DFB Pokal and Coppa Italia all take to the pitch, but the spotlight will firmly shine on Europe’s most intense league as the EPL once again takes centre stage.
Six EPL fixtures are set to take place throughout Wednesday evening, with some of the best clubs coming face-to-face. Here, we look at a selection of the matches and pick our top tips and best booking code (odds at time of writing):
Newcastle United vs Liverpool
Mohamed Salah has once again been Liverpool’s star performer at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, scoring 13 and assisting 11 in his first 20 appearances across all competitions, with 11 goals and seven assists in 13 Premier League matches.
That includes a goal in each of his last six Premier League appearances, including games against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, Aston Villa and Man City. Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest
Man City’s dismal winless run continued in their last outing with another defeat to Liverpool, their sixth in the last seven games, alongside a 3-3 draw with Feyenoord.
While they will, therefore, be extremely low on confidence heading into this one, they will regardless be the favourites to put an end to that miserable run when they face a Nottingham Forest side that have also encountered recent struggles.
With this, as well as Man City boasting the home advantage, the hosts should finally win here.

Aston Villa vs Brentford
Yoane Wissa has been sensational for Brentford so far this season, incredibly scoring eight and assisting one in just 10 appearances in the Premier League, including goals in three of his last five league matches.
With Aston Villa on a poor run of eight matches without a win heading into this one, a run that has seen them concede a massive 15 times, we believe Brentford will cause plenty of problems for the hosts.

Arsenal vs Manchester United
Ruben Amorim is set to face his biggest task as Manchester United manager so far when his side face up against Arsenal on Wednesday night, with the Gunners looking to continue their recently improved form as they aim to close the gap on the league leaders, Liverpool.
The hosts have convincingly won all of their last three games with an aggregate score of 13-3, beating Nottingham Forest, Sporting and West Ham in that time, a run that will give them plenty of confidence, especially as they are set to play at home.
The visitors have also been improved since the arrival of Amorim, drawing with Ipswich before beating Bodo/Glimt and Everton 4-0 in their most recent outing. However, Arsenal a certainly a much harder test than they have encountered thus far, and with Amorim’s men still learning his system, Arsenal should secure the three points tonight.
