Club football has come to a pause across most of the major leagues as the October international break takes centre stage. With FIFA World Cup qualifiers nearing their conclusion, as well as international friendlies filling up the calendar, international matches across the globe are promising fans plenty of action and entertainment.
We take a closer look at some of today’s standout fixtures, highlighting our best booking codes (all odds at time of writing):
England vs Wales
Harry Kane heads into this international break in scintillating scoring form, already scoring a significant 18 goals in just 10 appearances across all competitions for Bayern Munich at the beginning of this campaign.
The striker has also netted a brilliant 13 goals in his last seven appearances for club and country, and with England expected to dominate and create plenty of chances against Wales, we expect the striker to continue his clinical form in front of goal and get on the scoresheet here.

Czech Republic vs Croatia
Croatia are top of UEFA FIFA World Cup qualifying group L with 12 points from four games, leaving them above second-placed Czech Republic on goal difference and with a game advantage over the current runners-up.
Croatia will be confident of increasing that gap when they clash with Czech Republic in this one, especially after the hosts secured a dominant 5-1 victory in the reverse fixture in June 2025.
Given the dominant nature of Croatia’s demolition of Czech Republic, we expect the visitors will record another three points in this meeting.

Malta vs Netherlands
Netherlands head into this clash as the overwhelming favourites to secure a significant victory over a Malta side that sit bottom of group G with just two points from five games, while the visitors are top with 10 points from four outings.
Netherlands recorded a sensational 8-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in June 2025, including braces from both Donyell Malen and Memphis Depay, and they will be aiming for a similarly dominant win and performance in this one.
Netherlands have now scored 14 goals in their four games, while Malta have conceded 12 in their five outings, leading us to expect another major victory for the visitors, and we are predicting Netherlands to win with at least 3.5 goals scored.

Somalia vs Algeria
Two teams at opposite ends of the CAF FIFA World Cup qualifying group G clash when bottom of the standings Somalia take on top of the table Algeria, and the visitors will be major favourites to secure the win.
Algeria have won six, drawn one and lost just one of their eight matches, while Somalia have drawn one and lost seven of their eight fixtures, including suffering a 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture against Algeria.
Given Algeria’s commanding win in that meeting, as well as their clear superiority over the entire of group G, we are expecting a comfortable win for the visitors.
