Bet9ja’s EPL Transfer Round-Up: Rashford to Barca? Arsenal Set For Another Big Move

The summer transfer window is heating up, and English Premier League teams are wasting no time in reshaping their squads, with several deals already confirmed and speculation mounting over many more to come.

Let’s dive into the round-up for the latest transfer news, taking a look at today’s EPL rumours.

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) – Barcelona

Rashford was loaned out to Aston Villa in January last season after falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim, and the winger has supposedly been told he is free to leave in this summer transfer window.

Reports have emerged this morning that the forward is now Barcelona’s top target for the left-wing position, with the Spanish side prepared to go all-in with their efforts to add the Englishman to their attacking roster.

Rodrygo – Chelsea/Arsenal

It looks almost certain that Rodrygo will leave Real Madrid in this summer window, especially as the Brazilian made just three appearances in the Club World Cup in Xabi Alonso’s first matches in charge – with only one of those coming as a start and playing just 101 minutes altogether.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with Arsenal earlier in the window, but with their ongoing deal for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, it appears increasingly unlikely that the Gunners could afford to do both transfers.

In light of Madueke’s potential £50m move, Chelsea are reportedly looking at the Brazilian to replace the winger, though they are expected to face competition from Paris Saint-Germain.

Eberechi Eze – Arsenal

Another Arsenal target, Mikel Arteta’s men are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace’s Eze, with the Gunners looking to structure a deal based around his current release clause of £60m – which they are hoping to pay in instalments rather than upfront.

Eze would provide the extra creativity that Arsenal often lacked last season, especially in Martin Odegaard’s declined form for periods of the campaign, while the Englishman would also offer versatility in the squad due to his ability to play on either wing.

Yoane Wissa – Nottingham Forest/Tottenham Hotspur

Nottingham Forest have a long-term interest in Wissa and bid for the striker during the 2025 January transfer window, and they have reportedly returned with another bid this summer as they aim to strengthen their forward line.

Tottenham Hotspur have also supposedly joined the race for the striker, with former Brentford boss Thomas Frank keen on reuniting with the striker at his new club.

However, with Manchester United’s ongoing interest in Bryan Mbeumo – with a deal looking increasingly likely – the Bees are supposedly unwilling to sell both forwards.

Ollie Watkins – Manchester United/Arsenal

Alongside Man Utd’s interest in Mbeumo, the Red Devils are looking to completely revamp their frontline, including a potential move for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.

The forward made it clear that he was unhappy with being dropped from the biggest games of the season by Unai Emery last term, and Man Utd may be looking to give the player an exit strategy.

Arsenal also hold an interest in Watkins, having made bids for the striker in January, and the Gunners could return with another bid in the summer window.
