‘Chelsea fan’ Victor Osimhen Set for EPL Move, Confirms Super Eagles Teammate

Victor Osimhen is on course to move to the English Premier League next season, according to Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong.

Speaking to UK radio station TalkSport, Troost-Ekong confirmed that Osimhen has held discussions with multiple English clubs and strongly hinted that the Nigerian striker will make the move this summer.

The Napoli striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has continued to impress, most recently scoring a hat-trick in Friday’s 4-0 win over Antalyaspor. His prolific goalscoring form has made him one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards, and with a reported release clause of £63 million (N124bn), several Premier League giants are circling.

“He Will Fit Into Every Team”

Osimhen has never hidden his admiration for the English top flight, and speculation over a summer move has intensified. Troost-Ekong, when asked about the striker’s future, gave the clearest indication yet that the switch is inevitable.

“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams,” Troost-Ekong told TalkSport. “It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team. I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

“I couldn’t see him playing [at Galatasaray] for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season.”

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all reportedly interested in securing Osimhen’s signature. Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked as they seek to bolster their attacking options.

Premier League Ready

Osimhen’s physicality, relentless work rate, and aerial dominance make him an ideal fit for English football. Troost-Ekong reinforced this, highlighting the qualities that set his Super Eagles teammate apart.

“His finishing is the part he’s working on the most. His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, he’ll chase down every ball. In the air, he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him and he’ll hold the ball up,” he said.

“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score. He’s direct, so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League.”

Osimhen certainly has the numbers to back up these claims. The 26-year-old has scored 20 goals in 22 Super Lig games for Galatasaray this season and continues to demonstrate why he is one of Europe’s elite strikers.

Who Will Win the Race for Osimhen?

With multiple Premier League clubs in need of a world class striker, Osimhen is expected to be at the centre of a transfer battle this summer.

Chelsea, long linked with the Nigerian forward, are in dire need of a reliable No.9. Man Utd, struggling for goals, are also keen to strengthen their attack, while Liverpool are reportedly considering their options as they prepare to refresh their front three, with Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez expected to leave Anfield in the summer.

Osimhen himself has previously expressed his ambition to play in England. “Future in the Premier League? Of course I would like to play there one day,” he said last year. “When the time comes, you will know everything.”

Now, it seems that time is arriving. The summer transfer window is shaping up to be a huge one, and Victor Osimhen looks set to be one of the biggest names on the move.
