Matchday 6 of the English Premier League was packed full of action and shocking results – Chelsea’s poor form continued as they went down to Aston Villa, with Spurs coming from behind to secure a draw away at Arsenal.
Elsewhere, Manchester City got past Nottingham Forest despite Rodri’s red card, and Newcastle hammered eight goals past a hapless Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Anthony Gordon vs Sheffield United
Newcastle recorded a record Premier League win, with eight different goalscorers putting the ball past Blades keeper Wes Foderingham. Anthony Gordon scored the pick of the goals – the young winger has started the season in great form after a slow start to his career in the North East.
Gordon picked the ball up on the left wing, cut inside before sending a pinpoint shot curling into the bottom right corner and out of the reach of the goalkeeper to send the Magpies’ support wild.
Darwin Núñez vs West Ham United
Liverpool continued their unbeaten streak this season with a well-deserved win over West Ham United, with Uruguayan Darwin Núñez scoring the pick of the goals in a 3-1 victory.
Argentina’s World Cup winning midfielder picked up the ball inside the West Ham half before sending a lofted ball over the defence – Núñez made no mistake with an exceptional first-time finish, volleying home as the ball dropped over his shoulder.
Bruno Fernandes vs Burnley
Bruno Fernandes has been one of United’s most consistent performers over the last few years, and scored arguably his best goal in a Red Devils shirt this weekend.
Jonny Evans sent a beautifully weighted pass over the Burnley defence, and Fernandes did the rest – hammering a Robin Van Persie-esque volley into the far corner of the net to give United the three points.
Pedro Neto vs Luton Town
Pedro Neto looks to be back to his best for Wolves after taking time to fully recover from a knee injury, and showed all the speed and skill that made him one of Europe’s top young talents when he first burst onto the scene at Molineux.
Racing onto a long pass behind the Luton defence, Neto beat Luton’s Tom Lockyer for pace before cutting inside and hammering a precise finish past the onrushing goalkeeper to put Wolves 1-0 up.
Foden vs Forest
Phil Foden’s superb opener for Manchester City was the exact kind of goal that Manchester City have become associated with during their time under Pep Guardiola.
Spanish midfielder Rodri picked the ball up near halfway before sending an inch-perfect crossfield pass to Kyle Walker, who sent a first time cutback towards Phil Foden. The English midfielder’s finish was emphatic, hammering the ball low into the corner of the net.
