Manchester City won the treble last season but will not be standing still when it comes to refreshing their squad.
Pep Guardiola will know slight adjustments are needed if Man City are to improve and has already been busy, less than two weeks after winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time with the club.
Key man Ilkay Gundogan has already agreed to join Barcelona on a free transfer in July and a first incoming is imminent.
Here are four potential ins and outs at Man City this summer.
Mateo Kovacic
Man City have already agreed a fee for the Chelsea midfielder, worth £30m so this move is imminent.
With Gundogan on his way out of City, Kovacic could be the perfect replacement and under Guradiola’s guidance, he could turn into a world-class talent. The Croatian man will be looking to add to his already impressive tally of four Champions League winner medals.
Kyle Walker
There has been several transfer rumours stating that Kyle Walker could be on his way out of Man City this summer, and his previous club Sheffield United are among the clubs interested. Bayern Munich is also a realistic destination for the 33-year-old.
Walker played a key role for City last season but he was left out of the Champions League Final, which could be an indication that he might see his game time significantly reduced next term.
Josko Gvardiol
Gvardiol is supposedly near the top of City’s wish list this summer but recent reports suggest he could cost them upwards of £75m if they want to get their man.
RB Leipzig will be in no rush to sell the Croatian central defender as he is contracted with until 2027, so may opt to hold out until they feel the right fee is put on the table. The young defender had an outstanding World Cup last winter and would boost City’s defensive options, with Aymeric Laporte set to leave.
Declan Rice
Rice is currently one of the most sought after central midfielders in world football and City have recently join the race for his signature.
Arsenal are the favourites to sign the England international but have had two bids rejected, meaning City could swoop in.
With Rodri already occupying this area of the pitch, the debate would be could Rodri and Rice work together in the centre of the park. Both box-to-box midfielders could complement each other greatly, and a space in midfield could open up if Bernardo Silva leaves as rumoured.
