Liverpool enjoyed a sensational 2024/25 season, as Arne Slot led the Reds to the English Premier League title – their 20th English top-flight trophy – in his first year at the club, exceeding the expectations of many.
Having already strengthened considerably in the transfer window, including breaking the British transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz in a deal worth £116m, Liverpool are expected to fight to retain their title in 2025/26, and the Reds are the favourites to win the Premier League.
Slot will be looking for a strong start to the season to set the tempo at the top of the table, but the Reds have been handed a difficult set of opening fixtures, while their run-in toward the end of the campaign could also prove tricky.
Standout Fixtures
Liverpool will already be eyeing up away trips to likely title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City, with the Reds visiting the Emirates Stadium at the beginning of January and the Etihad Stadium in early November – where victories could prove crucial in the battle for the Premier League crown.
Fans will immediately look for their fixtures against rivals Everton, with Liverpool taking on the Blues at home in late September before making their debut visit to the Toffees’ new home ground – the Hill Dickinson Stadium – in mid-April.
In addition, Liverpool host rivals Manchester United in mid-October at Anfield, where they have not lost in their last 10 meetings, before they visit Old Trafford in early May, with sights set on winning for a third consecutive visit.
