Kevin De Bruyne has announced he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, drawing a curtain on one of the most iconic careers in Premier League history.
After a decade of brilliance in blue, the Belgian midfielder broke the news in an emotional farewell post, saying: “These will be my final months as a Manchester City player.” And what a ride it’s been. 413 appearances. 106 goals. 174 assists. Six Premier League titles. One treble. Countless unforgettable moments.
As the tributes pour in, the biggest question now is simple: where next

One of the EPL’s Greatest
Signed from Wolfsburg in 2015 for £54.5m, De Bruyne has gone on to become one of the most influential midfielders the EPL has ever seen. A two-time PFA Player of the Year, the architect of City’s domestic dominance, and the creator-in-chief behind Pep Guardiola’s most successful sides.
With 14 trophies to his name – not to mention pulling the strings during the Citizens historic 2023 treble – KDB has done it all. He leaves as one of just a handful of players in EPL history with over 100 goals and 100 assists.
Guardiola’s Tribute
City boss Pep Guardiola described De Bruyne’s departure as a “sad day” and said, “Our success in the last decade would have been impossible without him… he’s one of the greatest, for sure.”
Guardiola also hinted that a statue may soon join those of Sergio Agüero, David Silva, and Vincent Kompany outside the Etihad.
What’s Next for KDB?
De Bruyne has yet to reveal his next destination, but reports suggest both the MLS and Saudi Arabia are circling. One of the more intriguing rumours, though, is a potential move to Galatasaray. Could Turkey be his next chapter? It would be a surprise, but then again, football never stops throwing curveballs.

Final Farewell?
City have yet to confirm if De Bruyne will feature at this summer’s expanded Club World Cup in the US, which would be a fitting stage for a send-off. If not, the FA Cup final could mark his final bow.
Either way, there are only a few games left to see KDB in a Manchester City shirt – and fans across the world will be watching closely.
