It’s no longer “if.” And it’s no longer “when.”
It might just be tonight.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool are on the cusp of English Premier League glory – and they might not even need to kick a ball to get over the line. If results go their way, the Reds could officially be crowned champions later this evening, with the players expected to gather together at Anfield in anticipation.
Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Leicester on Sunday, sealed by a superb Trent Alexander-Arnold strike, put them 13 points clear of Arsenal with just five games remaining. That gap is now almost uncatchable, and tonight could seal it.

How Liverpool Can Win It Tonight
Sunday’s win over Leicester moved Liverpool to 79 points, 13 clear of Arsenal, who have four games left and a maximum of 12 points still to play for.
If Mikel Arteta’s side lose to Crystal Palace tonight at the Emirates, they will be stuck on a maximum of 78 points. Liverpool, on 79, will be champions.
Even a draw would reduce Arsenal’s potential tally to 80, meaning Slot’s side would only need a point at home to Tottenham on Sunday to officially seal the title.
“I assume Arsenal — because they are such a good team — will win,” said Arne Slot. “So we probably have to do it ourselves. But any moment that it happens in, that would be special for the fans.”
Will the Squad Be Watching?
You bet they will.
Reports suggest the Liverpool squad will gather together this evening to watch the Arsenal game live – with a potential title party on standby .“We could be [gathering],” said captain Virgil van Dijk ahead of tonight’s game. “I expect Arsenal to win at home, but if it doesn’t happen, then it would be nice for us all to be together.”
One way or another, the champagne is chilling.
If It Doesn’t Happen Tonight…
Then it’s all about Anfield on Sunday.
Liverpool welcome Tottenham in what could be the perfect setting to wrap it up in front of their own fans. With Spurs out of sorts, it’s a dream opportunity to seal the deal.
Should Arsenal beat Palace and Liverpool slip up against Spurs, then it could be Chelsea away on 4 May. But make no mistake: the Reds are right there.
The dress rehearsal?

Could Arsenal Have To Clap Them On?
The optics are wild.
Arsenal, the team that led the table last year and pushed Liverpool closest this season, may have to give their rivals a guard of honour when they visit Anfield on 10 May. It’s not a requirement, but tradition often sees newly crowned champions applauded onto the pitch.
That would be a situation Arsenal fans – and Mikel Arteta – will want to avoid.
Trophy Lift & Parade Plans
Liverpool will lift the EPL trophy on the final day of the season, Sunday 25 May, against Crystal Palace at Anfield. It’ll be the first time Reds fans see their team lift the trophy in person, after the 2020 title was won behind closed doors.
An open-top bus parade is expected the following Monday or weekend. The city is ready. The players are ready. And with every passing day the moment inches closer.
Think Palace can hand Liverpool the title tonight? Or back Arsenal to delay things by another few days? Bet on the action here!
