Debut goal vs Cruz Azul
Lionel Messi came on in the 54th against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup and it was a dream start to his career for his new side after he scored the winner in the 94th minute.
The 36-year-old stepped up to take a free kick and in trademark fashion from 25-yards out and curled the ball into the top corner to send the Inter Miami supporters wild.
Leagues Cup Final goal vs Nashville SC
Messi opened the scoring in the 23rd minute of the game with a stunning goal from outside of the box after taking on his man and whipping the ball past the goalkeeper.
Nashville got a goal back and the final went to penalties, but Messi managed to pick up his first trophy with his new side after Inter Miami went on to win the game.
Long Ranger vs Philadelphia Union
Messi’s goal vs Philadelphia Union was reminiscent of his goal against Mexico at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, putting Inter Miami 2-0 up against their East-coast opponents.
Collecting the ball 35 yards from goal, Messi took a couple of touches before his low shot flew into the far corner out of the goalkeeper’s reach.
Chest and Volley vs Orlando
The first of Messi’s two goals against Orlando was a calm and composed volley from point blank range, effortlessly bringing the ball down on his chest and firing home. This goal is just a glimpse of what the Miami faithful have to look forward to in what could be a successful future for the club, with Messi at the heart of it.
