On Friday night the Netherlands host France in a crucial game in the hunt for qualification from Group B.
Netherlands come into the game having won both of their last games with crucial wins against the Republic of Ireland and Greece, who they now sit on level points with and have a game in hand over them.
France endured their first loss since the World Cup Final in their last outing, as they fell to a disappointing 2-1 loss to a German side who had sacked manager Hansi Flick just two days prior.
Netherlands vs France
Friday 13 September, 19:45
Johan Cruyff Arena
Netherlands and France started their UEFA Euro 2024 Qualification campaigns against each other back in March, with it being a horrible start for the Dutch as they got outclassed in a 4-0 defeat. The Netherlands have gone on to win their next three games in the group, including a crucial 3-0 win over Greece during the September International break.
While a win against France wouldn’t guarantee them a qualification spot, three points would go a long way in helping to solidify their spot above Greece who they currently are joint on points with. However, wins against France and Greece in their following two games would be enough to grant them qualification, if the Republic of Ireland can get a result against Greece in their upcoming game.
As for France, they require one more win from their next three games to achieve qualification and they’ll be confident of doing this at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Friday. This comes thanks to an impressive run which has seen them win all five of their group games so far without conceding a goal, the only side to do this along with Portugal.
Having played every minute of all five of France’s games, Kylian Mbappe has been their standout performer. The forward has contributed to an impressive six goals, four goals and two assists, with only four players contributing to more across all 10 groups.
Bet9ja Tips:
While we expect this should be a tighter game than the last encounter, when France destroyed the Netherlands 4-0, we still expect that France’s quality will be too much for the Dutch and secure them qualification from the group. You can get odds of France to win of 2.30 with Bet9ja. A 2-0 correct score for the visitors is priced up at 11.75.
With the way Mbappe has been playing in recent games for both club and country, we expect the Frenchman will get on the score sheet in this one too. You can get odds of Mbappe to score anytime of 2.25, while Mbappe to score first is priced up at 4.75.
Bet9ja Odds (at time of writing): Netherlands win: 3.15, Draw: 3.40, France win: 2.30
