Victor Osimhen’s future remains uncertain as Turkish giants Galatasaray have reportedly walked away from fresh transfer conditions laid down by Napoli, casting doubt over a potential permanent move for the Nigerian striker and placing several top European clubs on high alert.

The 26-year-old, who spent the last season on loan at Galatasaray, set the Turkish Süper Lig alight with his remarkable goal-scoring form, finishing as the league’s top scorer. His exploits reignited interest from major clubs, including Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Arsenal, as well as Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. But negotiations over a full transfer have hit an impasse.

According to reports,, Napoli have asked for €40 million (£34m/$44m) to be paid upfront, with an additional €35 million (£30m/$40.9m) to be received in add-ons by 2026. The Italian club also included a sell-on clause as part of the agreement.

Galatasaray, while previously willing to meet the €75 million total valuation, have pushed back against the proposed terms. They are reportedly comfortable with completing the payments by 2027 instead of 2026 and are not open to including a sell-on clause, a deal breaker that has now caused the Turkish club to pull out of the latest round of negotiations.

This latest twist comes after Italian publication La Repubblica reported that Galatasaray had submitted all required financial guarantees and appeared ready to finalise the deal until Napoli’s updated conditions altered the trajectory.

Osimhen’s stalled transfer has not gone unnoticed. Clubs in England and Saudi Arabia are closely monitoring developments, with Manchester United and Arsenal both long-time admirers of the Super Eagles striker. Al-Hilal, one of the Saudi Pro League’s most ambitious clubs, are also reportedly preparing a potential bid.

The Nigerian forward remains one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe. His ability to blend raw power, pace, and clinical finishing has made him a consistent performer at both club and international levels. After overcoming injury setbacks during his early days at Napoli, Osimhen’s form in Turkey has reminded the football world of his world-class pedigree.

With the 2025–26 season set to begin next month, Osimhen is eager for clarity. Sources close to the player suggest he is keen to resolve his future swiftly, avoiding distractions ahead of what could be another defining season in his career.

The delay, however, has left him in limbo neither confirmed at Galatasaray nor reintegrated into Napoli’s first-team plans. For now, Osimhen’s situation remains a complex dance of negotiation, financial demand, and strategic positioning.

As Napoli continue to stand firm on their valuation and terms, the ball is now in the court of potential suitors. Whether Galatasaray return with a revised offer, or if one of the Premier League or Saudi clubs steps up with a formal bid, remains to be seen.

What is certain, though, is that Victor Osimhen’s name will dominate the headlines until his next destination is finally confirmed.
