Sealed with a Handshake? Victor Osimhen’s Meeting with Man Utd Influencer Sparks Speculation

Victor Osimhen has ignited speculation about a potential summer move to Manchester United after meeting with popular Red Devils influencer @UtdTrey in Turkey.

Viral Video

Man Utd fans were sent into a frenzy on Monday when @UtdTrey, a well-known influencer on X, attended the Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe match and later met Osimhen.

After the game, he shared a video showing him shaking hands and laughing with the Nigerian striker, accompanied by a cryptic caption.

If that wasn’t enough to stir excitement, he posted the same video on TikTok with the caption: POV: You convinced Victor Osimhen to sign for Man United. The video quickly went viral, triggering a wave of speculation about the Super Eagles forward’s next move.

United leading the race

Osimhen’s potential switch to Old Trafford has been a hot topic for months. Earlier this month, Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that both United and PSG had made official verbal offers to the Super Eagles star regarding his contract and salary – and that both clubs are prepared to pay his £62m (N118bn) release clause.

Adding further fuel to the fire, Nigerian outlet Business Insider claimed that Osimhen’s move to Manchester United is already “95% completed”, with the club reportedly ready to trigger the clause.

Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in red-hot form this season in Turkey, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Ruben Amorim’s Number One Target

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim has reportedly made Osimhen his top striker target as he looks to bolster Man Utd’s attack. With current forwards Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to meet expectations, Amorim sees Osimhen as the perfect solution to lead the Red Devils frontline.

Reports suggested that United had considered a swap deal involving Højlund or Alejandro Garnacho, but it now appears the club will pay the release clause outright to avoid complications.

Competition for Osimhen’s Signature

While Man Utd are currently leading the race, they will face stiff competition from PSG, who are also keen on signing the Super Eagles star. Additionally, Al Hilal – who reportedly failed to secure his signature in 2024 with a mammoth £140m (N265bn) bid – could reignite their interest with a lucrative offer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, once seen as strong contenders, are now reportedly focusing on Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.

Could Osimhen be the striker to solve United’s attacking issues? Let us know in the comments below.
