Real Madrid secured a remarkable 15th UEFA Champions League title with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on Saturday thanks to late goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior.
In a contest more competitive than many had anticipated, Dortmund created a string of good chances in the first half but were held goalless after some poor finishing and strong last ditch defending by Madrid.
They were left to rue those missed chances when Madrid’s veteran right back Dani Carvajal glanced a header past Gregor Kobel in the 73rd minute, before Ballon D’Or favourite Vinicius Junior’s put the cherry on a superb individual display with a finish into the corner.
