Nigerian footballers continue to make their mark across the globe, delivering standout performances and sensational seasons as they represent their national team with pride and excellence.
As the 2025/26 season approaches, anticipation is growing to see which Super Eagles stars will rise, surprise and dominate the biggest stages – while transfers could see some of these stars playing for new clubs. But who are the three key players you should keep an eye on next season?

Ademola Lookman (Atalanta)
Lookman is already an established Super Eagles star, having scored eight in 28 appearances for the national team and 52 goals in 118 appearances for Atalanta over the last three seasons – statistics which have caught the eye of several elite European teams.
The Nigerian has previously been linked to clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, but Inter Milan have recently emerged as the most likely destination for the attacker.
Inter Milan are looking to agree a deal worth around £40m, and with a move appearing imminent this summer, staying in the Serie A could be of interest to the Nigerian.
Lookman has already proven himself in the Serie A and on the European stage, but moving to one of the world’s best clubs could only help further elevate his performances, making Lookman one to watch in the upcoming campaign.
Tolu Arokodare (Genk)
Arokodare has enjoyed two strong seasons with Genk, scoring 15 goals in 52 appearances in 2023/24 before stepping up his level even higher in 2024/25, netting 23 times and providing five assists in 45 appearances – with his 21 league goals seeing him finish as the Belgian league’s joint-top scorer.
Those performances have attracted the interest of several top European sides, from Manchester United being linked earlier in the window to AC Milan looking increasingly likely to make a move for the Super Eagles striker in the coming days.
Arokodare’s physical presence – standing at 6’5” – combined with his goalscoring record and lower market value – reportedly in the region of £15m to £20m – make him a particularly interesting profile in attack, especially as AC Milan look to add the physicality in attack that they have missed since Olivier Giroud’s exit.
With a move looking increasingly likely before the window closes, Bet9ja believe Arokodare is certainly a player to watch out for in 2025/26.
?? Inter Milan have agreed terms with Ademola Lookman – and he’s told Atalanta he wants the move.

Christantus Uche (Getafe)
Uche made his competitive debut for Moralo CP in the 2022/23 Tercera Division (the fifth division in Spain) before quickly moving to AC Ceuta FC in the third tier, and then again to Getafe in LaLiga – marking his rise from the fifth tier to the top flight in just two years.
Despite the rapid rise, Uche showed no signs of slowing down as he enjoyed a superb debut campaign for Getafe in 2024/25, scoring four and assisting six in 33 league appearances for the side.
The Nigerian’s performances – which saw him play anywhere from centre-forward to defensive midfield – saw him earn his national team debut in May 2025, while a third transfer in as many years is looking increasingly likely.
Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United and Brighton & Hove Albion are all reportedly in the race to sign the Super Eagles star, and given Uche was absent from Getafe’s pre-season camp, a move away from Spain looks imminent.
Uche’s blend of technical ability and physical attributes could make him the perfect fit for the Premier League, and we believe the versatile midfielder is certainly one to keep your eye on in 2025/26, regardless of where he ends up.
