The 5 Best Goals Of The International Break Featuring Nigeria, England & Portugal

There has been a break to club football for Europe’s top leagues due to international fixtures being played.

This international break has been an exciting one because of the competitive nature of the games, with AFCON qualifiers, World Cup qualifiers and Nations League games taking place.

We take a look at the top five goals scored from this round of international fixtures:

Harry Kane, England

England 2-0 Finland

England comfortably beat Finland 2-0 in the Nations League, thanks to a brace from Harry Kane on his 100th international appearance.

The first of Kane’s two goals was a thing of brilliance, when he chopped the ball through the defender’s legs and then cannoned the ball past the keeper from just inside the penalty area.

Ademola Lookman, Nigeria

Nigeria 3-0 Benin

Ademola Lookman opened the scoring for the Super Eagles on Saturday in an AFCON qualifier, on the stroke of half-time, and it was a great individual goal.

The Atalanta winger danced his way past three defenders inside the penalty area, before he nipped in front of the fourth defender and passed the ball past the Benin goalkeeper.

Harry Kane, England

England 2-0 Finland

Kane’s second goal of the night was an excellent one, when Trent Alexander-Arnold and Noni Madueke worked the ball down the line well, and Kane finished into the bottom left-corner with a first-time finish.

Victor Osimhen, Nigeria

Nigeria 3-0 Benin

Nigeria saw off Benin with ease at the weekend, and the Super Eagles were given a major boost when Victor Osimhen came on the field for the final 20 minutes.

The Super Eagles looked far superior with their talisman on the pitch, and his goal was well-taken when the ball was whipped in and he scored with an intricate first-time finish.

Bruno Fernandes, Portugal

Portugal 2-1 Scotland

Portugal came from a goal behind against Scotland on Sunday and Bruno Fernandes kick started the comeback with a superb goal.

Rafael Leao played the ball back to the Manchester United star who struck the ball with his left-foot from 25-yards out which left Angus Gunn in goal with no chance.
