The 5 Goalscorer Bets to Put Your Money on This Weekend

The UEFA Champions League and Europa League had our entire focus over the week, and we had upsets, big performances and lots of goals. Domestic action returns this weekend, and we are hoping for more of the same.

As always, our aim is to take advantage of the goalscorer markets to cash out big time.

Here are five well-researched goalscorer bets for this weekend and you can bet on all five right here at Bet9ja! (all odds at time of writing)

Joao Pedro vs Leicester City

Brighton head into this fixture riding a disappointing four-game winless streak, but they are still in the race for European football and will be confident of making light work of a Leicester team on the brink of relegation.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s men are simply not good enough for this level, as evidenced by their current run of eight games without a win, and shockingly, without a single goal scored. The Foxes are unlikely to change their fortunes here, and Brighton’s strong home form means we could see some goals.

Our goalscorer pick for this one is Joao Pedro, who, despite having a bit of an inconsistent season (eight goals in 28 games), remains the Seagulls’ most dangerous player, with the added advantage of being the designated penalty taker.

Ollie Watkins vs Southampton

Southampton’s disastrous record this season, coupled with Aston Villa’s run of seven wins from eight games, means the visitors are heavy favorites for this clash. However, Villa are coming off a bad loss against PSG in the Champions League and will no doubt be distracted ahead of the second leg at home.

Luckily for Unai Emery’s men, Southampton have the worst defense in the league and have shipped 40 goals at their own ground.

There could be some rotation for Villa, with Ollie Watkins expected to return to the starting lineup. He has just one goal in his last 10 games and will be eager to stake a claim to regain his starting spot with a fine performance.

Ollie Watkins to score anytime @2.20

Mohamed Salah vs West Ham

Liverpool seem to be taking the long route as they look to wrap up the title, and last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Fulham will act as a wake-up call, with Arsenal 11 points behind. Star man Mohamed Salah is enduring his longest dry spell in two years, failing to score in four games. There’s just no way he extends that run, is there?

The Egyptian was in blistering form before the Champions League exit at the hands of PSG and remains the league’s top scorer with 27 goals.

The Reds are home against West Ham this weekend and will be confident of continuing their strong home record in this fixture (nine wins in the last 10 meetings at home).

Salah is due a goal, and we’re backing him to return to form here.

Cristiano Ronaldo vs Al Riyadh

Al-Nassr secured an impressive 3-1 victory over reigning champions Al-Hilal last weekend, moving to eight points behind league leaders Al-Ittihad. The hosts, who have won seven of their last 10 league outings, are in the Champions League qualification spots but will remain focused on challenging for the league title.

This weekend, they welcome Al-Riyadh, who have won just two of their last 10 games, and last defeated Al-Nassr back in 2005. Our goalscorer pick here is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, who continues to defy his age with elite performances.

The 40-year-old leads the Saudi Pro League scorers’ chart with 21 goals and is in red-hot form with five goals in his last four domestic games.

Cristiano Ronaldo to score anytime @1.55

Vangelis Pavlidis vs Arouca

Benfica will look to build on last weekend’s thrilling 4-1 win over Porto when they face Arouca on Sunday evening. The Eagles are eyeing their tenth consecutive league win and will be confident of doing so, thanks to the form of Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis.

Pavlidis scored a hat-trick in the Primeira Liga derby and has now scored 6 goals in his last 8 games, taking his total to 24 goals in a fantastic debut season. With Benfica two points ahead of Sporting at the top of the standings, they cannot afford to drop points here.

Arouca, coming off back-to-back defeats to Braga and Famalicao, are unlikely to pose a significant challenge, and we expect a big win for the hosts, with Pavlidis on the scoresheet.

Vangelis Pavlidis to score anytime @1.70
