The first legs of the final round of qualifying matches for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League are set to take place on Wednesday.
Four fixtures take place tonight, and with every team fighting for a chance to compete in Europe’s most prestigious tournament, we expect plenty of action and drama throughout.
In this article, we’re going to look at Wednesday’s UCL matches and pick out our top tips and best booking code (all odds at time of writing):
Young Boys Bern vs Galatasaray
These two sides have had extremely opposing starts to the 2024/25 campaign, with the hosts winning just one of their six matches played so far. Young Boys kicked off the season with three straight defeats, followed by consecutive draws, and only won their first game in the cup against lower-league FC Printse-Nendaz. Galatasaray, on the other hand, disappointingly lost 5-0 to Besiktas in the Super Kupa final but have followed that up with back-to-back 2-1 victories in the league.
Due to the visitors having better form coming into this one, we expect them to take a narrow victory into their home leg.
Galatasaray to win, 1.98
Malmo FF vs Sparta Prague
Both sides have been impressive so far this season, with the hosts sitting comfortably top of the Swedish Allsvenskan with 44 points compared to second-placed Hammarby’s 35, while the visitors have won all five of their league matches.
The hosts may have only lost one game at home in the league this season, but the visitors have enjoyed an immense run of form, with their last competitive defeat coming against Liverpool in March. For that reason, we believe the visitors will secure a first-leg victory here.
Sparta Prague to win, 3.15
Midtjylland vs Slovan Bratislava
Midtjylland have enjoyed a positive start to the 2024/25 season, winning three and drawing two of their opening five league fixtures as well as comfortably progressing past UE Coloma and Ferencvaros in the Champions League.
While Slovan Bratislava have also had a positive start, drawing two and winning seven of their opening nine fixtures across all competitions, the hosts should have plenty of confidence due to their first-leg home advantage. With that, we believe the hosts will win this one, setting up a potentially thrilling second leg.
Midtjylland to win & over 2.5 goals, 2.32
Dynamo Kiev vs Salzburg
Both sides have scored plenty of goals so far this season, making this match-up a potentially exciting game filled with plenty of goalmouth action.
The hosts did struggle in their previous round matchup with Rangers, only progressing with two late goals in the second leg after their opponents received a red card. The visitors also struggled to progress past Twente, winning 2-1 in their home leg before drawing 3-3 in the away match.
With Dynamo Kiev holding the home advantage, although the match will technically take place at a neutral ground, they should be confident coming into this game, but we believe the quality of Salzburg will help earn them a draw.
Dynamo Kiev & Salzburg to draw, 3.65
