The Super Eagles have some crucial fixtures coming up in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, so the key players will need to continue their form from club football, if they want to compete in the prestigious tournament.
It is exciting times for Nigerian football, as plenty of young talented players are coming through and playing regular first team football in Europe’s top leagues.
Wilfred Ndidi, Leicester City
Ndidi was vital for Leicester City last campaign when they impressively won the EFL Championship and the Nigerian midfielder notched 36 appearances in all competitions with 12 goal contributions.
The 27-year-old was excellent for the Foxes last term where he showed his capabilities at both ends of the pitch which earned him an average WhoScored rating of 6.87.
The Super Eagles midfielder will be on the radar of several top clubs this summer, as his current contract with Leicester is set to expire and will be available on a free transfer.
Ademola Lookman, Atalanta
Lookman is the third man on our list, in the midst of a brilliant campaign for Serie A outfit Atalanta, where he earned himself an average WhoScored rating of 6.91.
The 26-year-old featured 20 times in the league, where he scored nine times and chipped in with six assists, so he could be crucial for the Super Eagles in the summer qualifiers.
Lookman has the opportunity to add a European trophy to his accolades, as Atalanta will match up against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
Victor Osimhen, Napoli
Osimhen has had a season riddled with injury woes, but has still performed to a high level when he has been fit and achieved an average WhoScored rating of 6.99 across all competitions for club and country.
Despite missing large chunks of the season, the 25-year-old forward still managed to chip in with an impressive 18 goal contributions in 22 league games for Napoli.

Victor Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen
Boniface has been in immense form for Leverkusen this term, where he had an average WhoScored rating of 7.44 and helped his side complete an unbeaten league campaign.
The Nigerian forward has featured just five times for country, but after his impressive displays this term where he chipped in with 22 goal contributions in 18 league games, he will be regularly selected in the future.
Boniface is another Super Eagles forward who has had injury woes this season, but it has certainly not affected his performances when he has been fit which leaves the national team in great stead for the upcoming games.
