Tonight marks the final day of this season’s UEFA Champions League group stage, with it also being the final group stage before the revamped 36-team Champions League format begins next season.
The biggest drama of the day is sure to come from Group F, which has provided fantastic action and unbelievable twists and turns all throughout the group stage thus far. Borussia Dortmund are coming into this game with the knowledge that they have already secured their spot in the top two of the group and so are guaranteed to move into the knockout stages of the Champions League. As for PSG, they go into the game with a two point advantage over the other two members of the group but anything other than a win tonight would leave their hopes of advancing up to chance.

Newcastle United vs AC Milan
Newcastle United and AC Milan both sit on five points, two behind current second placed PSG. With this, their chances of qualifying for the next stage rely on PSG dropping points and either side taking all three points in this game. For Newcastle, a win and a PSG draw or loss would see them take second place with their superior head-to-head record over the French giants. While Milan need a win and PSG to lose as their head-to-head record is inferior to Les Parisiens.
With Newcastle’s strong home form coming into this game, losing just two of their home games this season, compared to Milan’s poor away form in recent weeks, taking just one win from their last five, we believe that Newcastle should go on to win.
FC Porto to win, 1.55
FC Porto vs Shakhtar Donetsk
FC Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk are neck-and-neck in Group H with both sides sitting on nine points, making this game a straight shootout for the second qualification spot in the group. For Porto a win or draw will keep them in second place thanks to their 3-1 victory over Shakhtar in the opening game of the group stage, meaning Shakhtar have to win to progress.
While this is almost certain to be an extremely tight affair, Porto have never lost to Shakhtar in the Champions League and we expect that this will continue. Being at home gives Porto a huge advantage in this game, with the crowd certain to be playing the role of the 12th man and this could help push the Portuguese side over the line.
