As the 2023/24 campaign comes to a close, the transfer rumours are starting to pick up, and we picked out some of the latest ones involving Nigerian players.
There are several big names that are out of contract at the end of the season, so it will be interesting to see if certain players will be tied down to new deals or will be able to leave on free transfers.
Wilfred Ndidi
Leicester City – West Ham United
The latest reports are suggesting that Ndidi has been heavily linked with a move away from Leicester City this summer, after his current contract at the club is set to expire.
However, the Hammers face fierce competition for the Nigerian’s signature fromEnglish Premier League counterparts such as Aston Villa and Newcastle United. (fichajes)
Kelechi Iheanacho
Leicester City – Aston Villa
Super Eagles forward Iheanacho has been on the radar of Premier League outfit Aston Villa ahead of the summer transfer window as they hunt for a back-up to star man Ollie Watkins.
Iheanacho is another Foxes player who is out of contract at the club this summer and he has rejected a new deal, which means it would be a free transfer if Villa were to lure him to the club. (Football Insider)
Akor Adams
Montpellier – Besiktas
Adams had a mixed first campaign at Montpellier after he found the back of the seven times in his first nine league games but then went on a major goalless run in the second half of the season.
The Nigerian forward has been linked with a move away from the French side, and according to reports, Besiktas are the main club that are interested in the summer. (Daily Post)
Victor Osimhen
Napoli – Chelsea
Recent reports are suggesting that Osimhen would favour a move to the Premier League this summer, and Chelsea are ready to trigger his £113 million release clause.
There are rumours stating that the Nigerian forward is in the radar of PSG, but he is not fond of the idea of returning to play in the French league. (Sky Sports Italia)

Iheanacho is not a workaholic, he’s like sterling in terms of work rate, I don’t see him @ Aston villa
