It was a weekend of high drama, late twists, and stunning goals across Europe’s top leagues. In the English Premier League, Liverpool tightened their grip further on the title, while in Germany, both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen suffered shock defeats. Over in La Liga, Real Madrid moved up to second, and in Italy, Ademola Lookman was instrumental as Atalanta thrashed Juventus 4-0 to boost their title ambitions.
Beyond the results, some breathtaking strikes stole the show. Here are our top five picks.
Vinicius Jr. (REAL MADRID 2-1 Rayo Vallecano)
Vinicius Jr. reminded everyone why he is one of the most electrifying players in world football with a breathtaking solo goal in Real Madrid’s victory over city rivals Rayo Vallecano.
After receiving the ball near the left flank, Vinicius was initially forced towards the corner flag, but instead of giving up, he turned back, took on his marker with signature stepovers, and weaved through multiple defenders before calmly slotting the ball into the net.
The Brazilian, who had struggled in front of goal of late, looked back to his best, adding yet another spectacular goal to his growing highlight reel. This strike took his tally to 18 goals for the season, as Los Blancos put some much needed pressure on their title rivals.

Bruno Fernandes (MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 Arsenal)
A moment of pure quality from the Manchester United captain. With the game finely poised, Fernandes stepped up from 25 yards and curled an inch-perfect free-kick into the top corner. Arsenal keeper David Raya could only watch as the ball flew over the wall and dipped beautifully into the net, giving United a first-half lead. A stunning strike from a player who has made a habit of delivering in big games.

Marcus Tavernier (Tottenham 2-2 BOURNEMOUTH)
While Marcus Tavernier applied the finishing touch, this goal was all about Milos Kerkez’s sensational assist. The Bournemouth left-back intercepted a loose pass deep in his own half and immediately set off on a surging 60-yard run down the left flank. With Spurs scrambling to recover, Kerkez showed immense composure, slowing at the perfect moment before whipping in an inch-perfect cross to the back post.
Tavernier made no mistake, timing his run beautifully to meet the delivery and fire past Guglielmo Vicario in front of the travelling Bournemouth supporters.

Ademola Lookman (Juventus 0-4 ATALANTA)
Ademola Lookman marked a major milestone in spectacular fashion, netting his 50th goal for the club as Atalanta humiliated Juventus 4-0 in Turin. The Super Eagles forward played a starring role in the rout, tormenting the Juventus backline from start to finish and putting the final nail in the coffin with a late strike.
Lookman was unlucky not to score earlier, striking the post in the first half and forcing a fine save from Michele Di Gregorio. He then played a key role in Atalanta’s third goal, linking up brilliantly in the build-up before Davide Zappacosta slotted home.
The icing on the cake came in the 75th minute when Lookman capitalised on a slip from Dusan Vlahovic, raced clear, and fired home via a slight deflection to wrong-foot the goalkeeper.

Nadiem Amiri (Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-3 MAINZ 05)
Nadiem Amiri’s sensational form continued as he sealed a crucial 3-1 victory for Mainz with a thunderous strike against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Just as Gladbach began to build momentum, pulling a goal back in the 73rd minute, Amiri crushed their hopes with a stunning 18-yard screamer that flew past goalkeeper Jonas Omlin.
It was a statement goal from a player who has been instrumental in Mainz’s incredible push for Champions League football. Amiri, who was once written off after a tough spell at Bayer Leverkusen, has rediscovered his best form, scoring his sixth Bundesliga goal of the season and leading the charge for Die Nullfünfer who move up to third in the league.
