Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recently announced that he will be retiring from football and we picked our top five moments from his legendary career.
The Swedish forward played for some of Europe’s top sides including Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Barcelona across a 24-year career.
Ibrahimovic had an injury riddled last campaign as a professional footballer, meaning that he only managed to feature four times in the league for AC Milan.
Acrobat vs England, November 2012
Sweden faced England in a friendly where Ibrahimovic was almost deemed as his countries only hope and he managed to guide his side to a 4-2 victory.
However the main talking point from the game was an acrobatic goal in familiar style from the forward, when he bicycle kicked it from more than 30-yards-out, an iconic goal that will be embedded in the football history books.
LA Galaxy debut, March 2018
Ibrahimovic signed for LA Galaxy in 2018, and he evidently found the level far too easy, finding the back of the net the back of the net 52 times in 56 games.
On his debut, the Swedish forward came off the bench when his side were 3-1 down and he scored a brace meaning they ended up drawing the game. One of the goals was a miraculous volley from 40-yards out.
Manchester United League Cup and Europa League double, 2017
The 41-year-old signed for Premier League outfit Manchester United in 2016 and there were question marks as to whether he could cut it in the English game.
In his debut season, Ibrahimovic managed to help his side win the UEFA Europa League and League Cup, proving the doubters that he could in fact perform in the English Premier League and be part of a successful side.
Flick vs Italy, Euro 2004
Ibrahimovic scored arguably one of the greatest goals of all time, when he produced an outrageous flick which levelled the game at 1-1 against Italy.
At just 23-years-old, Ibrahimovic had already started to make a name for himself but producing this type of goal on the world stage really caught the eye of every football fan.
PSG goal vs Anderlecht, 2013 Champions League
Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a successful time at PSG, but one of the most memorable moments was when he scored four goals in the UEFA Champions League against Anderlecht, including a first half hat-trick.
The third goal from the Swede was one of the most venomous strikes the history of football has ever seen, after the ball dropped to him on the edge of the area and he slammed it home from outside penalty area into the roof of the net.
