As the summer unfolds, pre-season preparations are getting underway ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 English Premier League campaign. While some of the big six’s pre-seasons are already in full swing, with their pre-season schedule already started, others are still enjoying a well-earned break – such as Manchester City and Chelsea due to their Club World Cup involvement.
We take a closer look at all of the pre-season fixtures lined up for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal
After finishing as Premier League runners-up for a third consecutive season in 2024/25, Mikel Arteta will be desperate to finally end Arsenal’s over two-decade title drought next season, and the Gunners face a tough three-match pre-season as an early test of their readiness to take that final step.
vs AC Milan (23 July, 12:30)
vs Newcastle United (27 July, 12:30)
vs Tottenham Hotspur (31 July, 10:00)
Chelsea
Chelse were in contention for the title before severely falling behind as the season progressed to its latter stages, but after winning the Club World Cup with a 3-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain, the Blues will fancy their chances in the league next term.
Enzo Maresca’s side have a shorter pre-season as a result of their Club World Cup involvement, but the Blues still face two elite European opponents.
vs Bayer Leverkusen (8 August, 17:00)
vs AC Milan (10 August, 15:00)
Liverpool
The Reds remarkably lifted the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s first season at the club in 2024/25, and having already strengthened considerably in the summer window, Liverpool are heading into the new campaign as favourites to retain their crown.
Liverpool take on four fixtures in the preparation of their title defence, including two matches against Athletic Bilbao on the same day.
vs AC Milan (26 July, 10:00)
vs Yokohama F. Marinos (30 July, 07:00)
vs Athletic Club (4 August, 17:00)
vs Athletic Club (4 August, 20:00)
Manchester City
Man City had a disappointing 2024/25 season as they dropped to third place, ending their four-year reign over the Premier League title, and Pep Guardiola will now be aiming to reclaim their throne next term.
The Citizens face a shorter pre-season due to their involvement in the Club World Cup, meaning they have opted for just a single pre-season fixture.
vs Palermo (9 August, 20:00)
Manchester United
Man United face the longest pre-season as they rigorously prepare for a 2025/26 campaign where the Red Devils will have to considerably approve upon a disastrous 15th-placed finish in the Premier League last term.
vs Leeds United (19 July, 10:00)
vs West Ham United (26 July, 10:00)
vs Bournemouth (31 July, 03:30)
vs Everton (3 August, 22:00)
vs Fiorentina (9 August, 12:45)

Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs similarly face a longer pre-season as they look to get to terms with new manager Thomas Frank’s tactics and system, while they also look to improve upon an unacceptable 17th-placed Premier League finish last campaign.
vs Reading (19 July, 15:00)
vs Luton Town (26 July, 15:00)
vs Arsenal (31 July, 10:00)
vs Newcastle United (3 August, 12:00)
