Palmeiras
Palmeiras were among the first group of teams to be awarded a place at the upcoming Club World Cup, with the Brazilian side earning their place having triumphed in the 2021 Copa Libertadores.
Palmeiras may fancy their chances of progressing from group A, drawn alongside Inter Miami, Al Ahly and Porto, though they are not likely to go all the way and lift the trophy.

Flamengo
Flamengo were also part of the first group of teams awarded a place at the 2025 Club World Cup, as their 2022 Copa Libertadores victory ensured they were given a spot during the first selections in March 2023.
Flamengo are one of the favourites to win the competition from South America, especially as they enter into this competition in superb form, including sitting top of the Brasileiro Serie A table with only one loss from 11 games. They recently signed the experienced Jorginho from Arsenal to boost their squad ahead of the tournament.
They have been drawn alongside Esperance de Tunis, Chelsea and Los Angeles FC in group D, meaning they back themselves to get out of the group and into the knockout rounds of the competition.

Fluminense
Fluminense secured their spot at the upcoming Club World Cup having lifted the Copa Libertadores trophy in 2023, defeating Boca Juniors 2-1 in extra-time in a game that included two red cards.
Fluminense are having an underwhelming start to their league campaign, sitting sixth with six wins, two draws and three defeats from 11 fixtures, but they will still be hopeful of progressing from group F, competing with Borussia Dortmund, Ulsan HD and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Botafogo
Botafogo were the final team to be awarded a place at the 2025 Club World Cup as a result of winning the Copa Libertadores, being crowned champions of the tournament in 2024.
Botafogo have been drawn in one of the hardest groups in the Club World Cup, alongside Seattle Sounders, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid in group B, giving them a difficult task to progress to the knockout stages.

River Plate
River Plate were awarded their place at the upcoming Club World Cup in May 2024, with the Argentine giants given their place as a result of their CONMEBOL four-year ranking, as despite failing to win the Copa Libertadores in the qualification period, strong performances in that time ensured they will compete at this competition.
River Plate are certainly one of Argentina’s strongest clubs, and having been drawn alongside Urawa Red Diamonds, CF Monterrey and Inter Milan, they will be eyeing a top-two finish in group E.

Boca Juniors
One of the last teams to be given their place at the 2025 Club World Cup, Boca Juniors were awarded their place in August 2024, with their CONMEBOL four-year ranking earning their spot at the tournament.
Boca Juniors have been slightly inconsistent in the build up to this competition, with three defeats, one draw and four wins in their last eight games, but they will still believe they can qualify from a group C consistent of Benfica, Bayern Munich and Auckland City.
