The 2024 Olympic football tournament is approaching its climax in the coming days, leaving the anticipation building as all four teams set to take part in the semi-finals, battling for a place to win the coveted gold medals.
The two semi-finals, contested by Morocco, Spain, France and Egypt, are sure to provide plenty of drama, action and excitement as they all battle it out for a place in the final. Morocco vs Spain
Fermin Lopez comes into this game as the second top scorer across the entire tournament thanks to his three goals in the four matches played thus far. The 21-year-old played a vital part in Spain’s quarter-final victory against Japan, opening the scoring after 11 minutes before adding a second in the 73rd.
That fantastic performance is sure to earn him a place in the starting side, and Lopez is bound to be playing with plenty of confidence, leading us to believe he will score again here.

While Spain are certainly the favourites coming into this game, Morocco should not be underestimated as they have performed excellently throughout the tournament so far. They fantastically beat Argentina 2-1 in an extremely dramatic opening match, and have most recently beaten USA 4-0.
Spain, however, boast an extremely strong side that is stacked with talent across the entire squad, and while we do expect it to be a close encounter, we ultimately believe Spain will edge through to the final.

France vs Egypt
Jean-Philippe Mateta may have come into the Olympic tournament having had a phenomenal end to the English Premier League campaign last year, scoring 14 in his final 16 league outings, but not many would have expected him to start for France at this tournament.
Instead of playing second fiddle to Alexandre Lacazette, Mateta has started alongside the veteran striker in a front-two, and Mateta has continued his brilliant form in front of goal. He has scored twice in his four appearances, including the vital winning goal against Argentina in the quarter-final.
We expect Mateta to start up front once again here and to continue his brilliant goalscoring form by hitting the net.

France are not only yet to lose at the Olympics, winning all of their four matches, but they are also the only team who have yet to concede across the entire tournament, all while scoring eight times.
While Egypt have been impressive, the level of their performances and squad does not match up to that of France, and we believe the French will win this one fairly comfortably.
