Football continues coming at a relentless pace in the 2024/25 season, with this week offering a packed schedule of exciting and intriguing fixtures across a variety of competitions.
In this article, we focus on the EFL Cup and La Liga fixtures taking place on Tuesday, highlighting the key match-ups and offering our top tips and booking codes for the action ahead:
Manchester City vs Watford
Man City have had a strong start to the 2024/25 campaign, winning five and drawing two of their first seven fixtures across all competitions.
That opening form, as well as their hugely talented squad, will mean City are strong favourites to claim the victory over a Watford side that have failed to win in any of their last three matches across all competitions.
Pep Guardiola’s side have also been fantastic in front of goal already this term, scoring an English Premier League-high 13 goals in just five matches, suggesting they could score plenty of goals against a weaker opposition on Tuesday. You can also expect goals due to the fact Man City have scored 45 goals in their last 10 matches against Watford and have won all of the past 15 meetings between the two sides.
Manchester City to win & over 3.5 goals, 1.96 (all odds at time of writing)
Chelsea vs Barrow
Chelsea have had a fantastic opening to the 2024/25 season under their new manager Enzo Maresca, losing just two of their opening seven matches, one against Manchester City and the other coming in the second leg of their Europa Conference League playoff round against FC Servette, a tie which they ultimately won 3-2 on aggregate.
Their most recent performance was a dominant 3-0 win against West Ham, a result that will give them plenty of confidence heading into their following fixtures.
With Chelsea coming up against Barrow, who play their football in League Two, the hosts will be strong favourites to claim a comfortable victory, and we expect just that to happen.
Chelsea to win & over 3.5 goals, 1.43
Real Madrid vs Alavez
Kylian Mbappe has enjoyed his start to life at Real Madrid since making his long-awaited move from Paris Saint-Germain in the recent summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has already netted six times in his first eight appearances, including scoring on his UEFA Champions League debut against Stuttgart a week ago. The forward will be looking to continue his goalscoring exploits when Real Madrid face Alavez on Tuesday, a side Real Madrid have beaten in all of the last five meetings between the two teams.
With this, we expect Mbappe to once again get on the scoresheet and continue his fantastic start at Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe to score anytime, 1.65
Sevilla vs Valladolid
Sevilla and Valladolid have both faced plenty of difficulties in their opening matches of the 2024/25 season, each managing just one win in their first six matches in La Liga.
With that, both teams will be looking to take advantage of their opposition’s poor form and claim a victory that they can build upon in the following fixtures, leaving this one likely to be a fiercely competitive fixture.
Sevilla will be the favourites due to having the home advantage, while the hosts are also unbeaten in this fixture in the last 11 encounters, winning five and drawing six in that time. Due to this, we are predicting that Sevilla will earn a narrow victory on Tuesday.
Sevilla to win, 1.74
