The English Premier League returns this weekend for one final round of action before the November international break, and it promises plenty of drama. Among the standout fixtures, Chelsea are set to face Arsenal in a highly anticipated London derby at Stamford Bridge.
Both sides have shown flashes of brilliance and vulnerability up to this stage of the campaign, and fans can expect intense competition between two sides fighting for crucial points to move up the table.
Chelsea vs Arsenal
Sunday 10 November, 17:30
Stamford Bridge
Many were expecting yet another season of struggle for Chelsea, especially after making the surprising decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino at the end of last campaign and hire the inexperienced Enzo Maresca, who had just two full seasons of management under his belt.
However, the Blues have enjoyed a superb opening to the 2024/25 term, currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table with 18 points from 10 games, with five wins, three draws and just two defeats.
They have only lost four matches across all competitions this season, with two of those coming against Manchester City and Liverpool, leaving their confidence high coming into this one, especially on the back of a phenomenal 8-0 victory against FC Noah in the Europa Conference League.
Arsenal similarly had a strong opening to the campaign, remaining unbeaten in their first 10 across all competitions and losing just one of their first 14, a shock 2-0 loss to Bournemouth in the league.
However, their form has taken a nosedive since suffering that defeat to Bournemouth, with the Gunners now coming into this one having suffered back-to-back defeats to Newcastle United (1-0) and Inter (1-0).
Mikel Arteta will be desperate to put an end to that hugely disappointing run against Chelsea on Sunday, especially given they are already trailing their ambitions of winning the title by seven points after just 10 matches.
Chelsea Predicted XI: Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Colwill, James; Caicedo, Lavia; Felix, Palmer, Neto; Jackson
Arsenal Predicted XI: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Odegaard, Rice, Merino; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
Bet9ja Tips
Arsenal are the slight favourites heading into this match, but with their recent ineffectiveness in front of goal, as well as an unusual vulnerability in front of goal, we believe Chelsea will fancy their chances of taking all three points.
Combined with Chelsea boasting the home advantage, as well as being in a great run of form, we believe the Blues will win this one. With Cole Palmer in excellent goals scoring form, he’s currently 2.90 to score anytime to add to his seven league goals for the season.
Bet9ja Odds (at time of writing): Chelsea win: 2.77, Draw: 3.40, Arsenal win, 2.56
