As we move towards the end of the footballing season across Europe, plenty of high-stakes games are taking place throughout a variety of competitions. Today is no different in this aspect, with a UEFA Champions League semi-final, Europa Conference League semi-final and League One playoff semi-final all set to take place.
These games are sure to provide plenty of drama as the teams involved compete to progress into the respective finals of the competitions, and so we’ve picked out our top tips and booking codes for today’s matches.
Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich
The first leg between these two saw an extremely tough-fought affair eventually ending 2-2 and setting up a potentially fantastic second leg.
Vinicius Junior was arguably star of the show during that first leg, scoring the opener and adding his second to equalise for Real Madrid from the penalty spot late on in the game. Those goals took his tally to 21 In 35 matches across all competitions this season, just two behind his best-ever record of 23 goals in 55 matches last season.
The Brazilian has scored three times in his last four outings, leaving him in good form coming into this one, and we believe that Vinicius will get on the scoresheet once again in this one.
Vinicius Junior to score anytime, 2.60
Club Brugge vs Fiorentina
Fiorentina managed to record a 3-2 victory over Club Brugge in one of the most entertaining European first legs we have seen in recent times, with the match littered with drama. An early opening goal, a penalty, a red card and a stoppage-time winner all added up to make a fantastic match, and the Italian side will have been delighted with their eventual 3-2 victory.
They now travel to Belgium to face Club Brugge, who have only lost on a single occasion at home all season. However, Fiorentina were by far the dominant side in the first match, even before the red card for the Belgians, taking 31 shots to Club Brugge’s five, and we believe that Fiorentina will be able to show a similar level of performance and eventually secure their place in the final.
Fiorentina to qualify, 1.35
Peterborough United vs Oxford United
After Bolton Wanderers secured their place in the League One play-off final in last night’s second leg against Barnsley, Peterborough United and Oxford United will now battle it to join them at Wembley.
Despite Peterborough arguably being the better side throughout the first leg, Oxford United managed to make the most of their home advantage and secure a 1-0 victory to take into this second leg.
This leaves Peterborough having to come from one goal behind to have any chance of securing promotion back into the EFL Championship at just the second time of asking, and they may fancy their chances as they are set to play in front of their home crowd. They have lost just five times in the league at home this season, with the most recent coming in March at the hands of Carlisle.
While we do expect this to be an extremely tight encounter once again, we believe that Peterborough will get themselves over the line with a victory.
Peterborough United to win, 1.77 (90 minutes only)
