The third qualifying round for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League kicked off on Tuesday with seven first legs taking place, and the action is set to continue later today with the final three first legs.
The initial seven matches saw plenty of goals, drama and action throughout the 90 minutes, and we expect these three matches to provide more of the same. In this article, we’re going to take a closer look at these matches and pick out our top tips and booking codes:
Slavia Prague vs Union St. Gilloise
Both of these teams are set to play in their first matches of the Champions League qualifying rounds after earning their spot in the third round through their domestic leagues last season, and both will be eager to make it through to the next stage.
Slavia Prague have enjoyed a brilliant pre-season and start to their league campaign and come into this game unbeaten in their last 15 matches across competitive and friendly competitions. Apoel, on the other hand, narrowly beat Petrocub Hincesti despite being strong favourites, winning 1-0 in the first leg and coming from behind to take a 1-1 draw in the second leg, leaving them to advance with a 2-1 aggregate score.
The hosts will also have the advantage of playing at home and have scored a huge amount of goals in their recent matches, leading us to believe they will win this one.
Slovan Bratislava to win, 2.18
Jagiellonia Bialystok vs Bodoe/Glimt
Both of these sides impressed in the previous round of the competition, with them both claiming 7-1 aggregate victories thanks to 4-0 and 3-1 scorelines in either leg.
The hosts have also had the perfect start to their league season, winning all three matches to sit top of the league with nine points. The visitors, however, will hold the advantage of being halfway through their league season and currently sit top of the league with 40 points from 18 fixtures, already holding a seven-point lead over the chasing pack.
With all of these factors coming into mind, we believe that everything suggests that this game will end in a draw.
