The Euro 2024 Qualifiers came to an end in November 2023 after almost nine months of qualifying matches. However, for some sides, there is still a chance to make entry into this summer’s tournament through the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifier play-offs.
These qualifier play-offs take place throughout Thursday evening, with 12 teams coming head-to-head in six semi-finals that will lead into three finals with the winners of these eventual finals earning their spot into Euro 2024.
With plenty of drama and action expected to happen, we’ve picked out our top tips and booking codes for the upcoming fixtures:
Wales vs Finland
Kieffer Moore had struggled during the first half of this year’s domestic league season, making just 13 appearances across the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup and scoring only two goals.
This resulted in Moore transferring to Ipswich Town on loan for the remainder of the season, and the striker has made an excellent start to life with his new club. Moore has played 10 games for the Championship promotion hopefuls, scoring six times and also managing to grab an assist, something he has failed to do since his time at Cardiff in 2021/22.
This leaves Moore coming into this qualifier play-off in great form and with huge confidence, and we expect the striker to score a crucial goal for his side in this one.
Kieffer Moore to score anytime, 2.90
Greece vs Kazakhstan
Greece come into their semi-final tie as the strong favourites, but they will have to navigate past the potentially tricky contest of Kazakhstan. Despite never qualifying for a Euro tournament, Kazakhstan are coming into this game in some of the best form that the nation has ever seen as they won six of their 10 qualifying games.
While Kazakhstan will be hopeful of continuing this positive run and moving into the final, Greece are the much stronger side of the two and boast huge talent all throughout their squad. Vangelis Pavlidis has scored 23 goals in 26 games in the Eredivisie so far this season, and English Premier League duo Kostas Tsimikas and Konstantinos Mavropanos will provide a defensive base for the home side to work from.
For these reasons, we expect that Greece will eventually go on to win this one and move into the final of the qualifying play-offs.
Greece to win, 1.35
Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Ukraine
Artem Dovbyk traded in SC Dnipro-1 for Girona during the summer window, giving the striker his first taste of life in one of Europe’s top five leagues. Dovbyk has certainly made the most of this opportunity and has been a major part of Girona’s unexpected success story this season, with the club sitting third in La Liga largely thanks to Dovbyk’s 14 goals and five assists.
The striker does come into this game in rather poor form, not managing to score in any of his eight appearances since netting a hat-trick against Sevilla. However, we expect the striker to rise to the occasion in this one and get on the scoresheet once again.
Artem Dovbyk to score anytime, 2.90
