Despite being a week that sees the UEFA Champions League round of 16 take place, the English Premier League is still set to host three games over the next three days. While Monday night’s game between Everton and Crystal Palace is part of the normal matchday scheduling, Tuesday and Wednesday are rescheduled games.
Manchester City play Brentford in a previously postponed game due to Man City’s involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup. Elsewhere, Liverpool play Luton Town due to their EFL Cup Final on the following weekend.
Read on as we pick out our top tips and booking codes for the upcoming Premier League action:
Everton vs Crystal Palace
Monday night hosts what could become one of the most important games in the relegation battle come the end of the season as Everton take on Crystal Palace.
Everton currently sit 18 in the table due to their 10-point deduction earlier in the season leaving them on 19 points after 24 games. This game against Crystal Palace provides an opportunity for Everton to climb out of the relegation zone, with Luton just a point above them before their game against Liverpool, while Palace are five points their superior.
Both sides come into this one in extremely poor form, with Everton not winning in the Premier League for seven straight games while Crystal Palace have picked up just two wins in their last 13. Everton, however, will take confidence from the recent meeting between these sides in the FA Cup in which the Toffees won the replay at Goodison Park 1-0. Alongside this, Palace haven’t been able to win at Goodison Park since September 2014 and for this reason, we believe Everton will pick up these crucial three points.
Everton to win, 1.75
Manchester City vs Brentford
Manchester City’s fantastic 11-game winning run was ended at the weekend as Chelsea held on to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium. Despite dominating the game and having 31 shots, Manchester City were unable to find the winner leaving them further behind both Arsenal and Liverpool who won their respective games.
Liverpool’s win came at the expense of Man City’s upcoming opponents Brentford, with the Bees losing 4-1 at home. The scoring was started courtesy of an audacious chip by Darwin Nunez, followed by goals from Alexis MacAllister, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo while Ivan Toney continued his goalscoring form since returning from suspension.
With this being Manchester City’s game in hand, they’ll be looking to not only get back to winning ways but also make ground on those above them as the title race starts to heat up. With Brentford’s poor form of late, claiming two wins in their last 10 league games, we fancy City to win this one.
Manchester City to win & over 2.5 goals, 1.44
Liverpool vs Luton Town
Another side who find themselves in fantastic form recently are current league leaders Liverpool, who have lost just one of their last 14 games. Despite suffering three injuries to big players in the game against Brentford as Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota had to be subbed off, Liverpool still cruised to victory.
Goals have been coming thick and fast for Liverpool too, scoring a huge 17 in their last five games across all competitions. Liverpool will fancy adding more to this tally too as they come up against a Luton defence who have conceded 47 goals in the league this season, the third highest of any team.
Liverpool to win, 1.19
