Manchester Derby Preview & Booking Codes

Manchester City host city rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the second, and final,  Manchester derby of the English Premier League season.

The first game between these two sides saw Man City dominate as they ran out 3-0 winners at Old Trafford, their first victory there since 2021.

Man City will be hoping for more of the same as they look to stay in touching distance of Liverpool at the top of the table, while Manchester United are aiming for a win as they look to get closer to the UEFA Champions League places.

Manchester City vs Manchester United

Sunday 3 March, 16:30

Etihad Stadium

Manchester City come into this game in fantastic form as they are currently enjoying an 18-game unbeaten streak which has seen them pick up 16 wins and two draws.

The Citizens have also had the better time of it in recent Manchester derbies, winning four of the last five with an aggregate score of 16-7. This will certainly leave Man City with extreme confidence coming into this game, especially with them not losing against United at the Etihad since March 2021.

After scoring a hat-trick in his debut in this fixture, Erling Haaland extended his goal tally against their rivals in the last meeting as he netted twice to make it five in four appearances against the Red Devils. Phil Foden also joined in on the fun on both of these occasions, scoring a hattrick in the same game as Haaland as they won 6-3 while he netted another in the previous meeting.

Manchester United head into this fixture having been rather inconsistent in both their results and performances in recent weeks, which has been the story of their season so far.

Despite managing to win five in a row through January and February, they fell to a 2-1 loss against Fulham in their last league outing thanks to a 97th-minute winner from Alex Iwobi. The Red Devils have since won 1-0 against Nottingham Forest in their FA Cup tie, but yet another poor performance saw them only just scrape past their opponents with an 89th-minute goal from Casemiro.

Bet9ja Tips

Manchester City head into this game as the far superior side of the two and it should be a fairly comfortable outing for the Citizens as they look to keep the gap to a maximum of one point with Liverpool at the top of the table. You can get odds of Man City to win of 1.27 with Bet9ja.

Erling Haaland has relished this fixture since joining Man City in the summer of 2022, and we fancy the Norwegian to grab a couple more goals in this one. You can get odds of Haaland to score two or more goals of 2.82 with Bet9ja.

Bet9ja Odds (at time of writing): Man City win: 1.27, Draw: 6.30, Man Utd win: 10.00
