The English Premier League continues its march towards the end of the season with matchday 33 this weekend, leaving us just six matchdays away from finding out who will win the league, qualify for European competition and be relegated into the EFL Championship.
The standout games sees Newcastle United take on Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon, with the two sides in the hunt for European football, while Arsenal host Aston Villa at the Emirates on Sunday.
With drama and action sure to happen in these games and elsewhere across the matchday, we’ve picked out our top tips and booking codes for the upcoming fixtures:
Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Newcastle United may have had a slightly disappointing season compared to the heights they were able to reach last campaign, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League with a fourth-place finish, but they are still very much in the hunt for European football.
They come into this game in eighth place but just two points behind Manchester United in sixth, but Tottenham will be a tough opponent as they sit fourth in the table and need a victory to ensure they stay above Aston Villa on goal difference.
Newcastle do hold the home advantage though, where they have only lost three times in the league this season. They are unbeaten in their last five home league games heading into this one, while Tottenham have only managed one win in their previous six outings on the road.
For this reason, we believe Newcastle will make the most of playing in front of their home crowd, and we expect them to win this one.
Newcastle United to win, 2.70
Newcastle to win & over 2.5 goals, 3.20
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
Mohamed Salah’s season may have been interrupted by injury and his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations, but his performances for Liverpool have once again been of the highest quality.
The forward has netted 23 times in 35 appearances so far this season, with 17 of these coming in his 25 games in the Premier League, while he has also assisted a further 12 in all competitions.
These 17 league goals leave him third in the top scorers rankings and with three goals in his last four domestic games, we expect him to score another in this one. After their shock defeat to Atalanta, expect a strong response from the Reds this weekend.
Mohamed Salah to score anytime, 1.85
Liverpool to win & over 2.5 goals, 1.49
Arsenal vs Aston Villa
Arsenal vs Aston Villa is arguably the standout fixture of the weekend, pitting together an Arsenal side who are strong contenders for the Premier League title against a Villa team who are in fifth place, but on the same points as Tottenham in fourth place as they battle for Champions League qualification.
Arsenal will hold the advantage of this game taking place at the Emirates Stadium where they have been so strong this season, losing just one time at home in the league. In comparison, Aston Villa have failed to win in any of their previous three outings away from home, including taking a 4-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City last weekend.
While we do expect Aston Villa to put up a good fight, we can only see this result going in Arsenal’s favour as they look to continue their 11 game unbeaten run in the league and remain at the top of the table.
Arsenal to win, 1.30
Arsenal 1-0, 9.20
