With the UEFA Champions League drama now finalised, all eyes turn to the UEFA Europa League group stages as the final matches are set to be played across all eight groups.
Across the groups are multiple matches that will determine whether teams make it through to the knockout rounds of the tournament, and also what position in the group they will advance through in. With this being the final chance, all the teams will be out for the win and this is sure to create huge action and talking points.
Read on as we’ve picked out our top tips and booking code for tonight’s UEL action:
West Ham United to win, 1.94
West Ham United vs Freiburg
West Ham United and Freiburg are both coming into this game on 12 points, with West Ham currently taking top spot due to their superior head-to-head over Freiburg after beating them 2-1 on the opening day. Since then, Freiburg have gone on to score a competition high 17 goals in the group including 10 in their last two outings while conceding just five.
West Ham need just a draw to secure their place on the top of Group A, but Freiburg are coming into this one in much better form than their opponents. Freiburg have recorded three back-to-back victories, in comparison West Ham were demolished by Fulham in a 5-0 loss in their last outing albeit with a squad ravaged by a stomach bug. Despite this, with West Ham at home and in the driving seat coming into the game we expect that the Hammers will be victorious and secure top spot.
Brighton and Hove Albion to win, 1.70
Brighton and Hove Albion vs Marseille
Brighton and Hove Albion sit one point behind their opponents Marseille, meaning only a win will be enough if they are to finish top of Group B. Both sides have the current joint top scorers of the competition, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Joao Pedro sitting on five goals, this game is likely to be filled with action in the attacking areas.
While Marseille are coming into this one in much better form, winning all of their last four compared to Brighton winning just two of theirs, this game is sure to be a tightly contested affair. However, Brighton were by far the better side in the reverse fixture and were unlucky to not come away as victors and with this game now taking place at the Amex Stadium we believe that Brighton will take the three points this time around.
Stade Rennes to win, 1.97
Stade Rennes vs Villarreal
Villarreal currently sit in second place in Group F trailing behind Stade Rennes by two points, leaving first place still up for grabs in this final match of the group. Villarreal were rather fortunate to take the three points in the opening game between these two sides as they generated just 0.31xG compared to Rennes’ 2.04.
While both sides are coming into this game in rather poor form, Rennes have won all of their four Europa League games since the opening day defeat and will be confident that their European form will continue in this one.
Due to their superior European form and based on the performances of the two sides in their previous meeting, we expect that Stade Rennes will take all three points and secure their place in top spot in this one.
