There are a host of enthralling FA Cup fixtures happening this weekend, with many of the country’s top sides in action as they look to add England’s most prestigious cup trophy to their cabinet.
We spoke to Bet9ja Ambassador Victor Ikpeba ahead of the games for his exclusive take on the matches, along with who he favours in each of them.
Bournemouth vs Leicester City – Victor’s pick: 2-1
Bournemouth have grown well into this season and have one of the best forwards in the league in Dominic Solanke. Leicester are a strong side in their own right, but The Cherries should have enough to overcome their Championship opposition.
Blackburn vs Newcastle United – Victor’s pick: 1-3
Newcastle are struggling with injuries at the moment and were dominated by Arsenal at the weekend – this match could either be a banana peel for them or an opportunity to get things back on track. I back them to get the job done away from home.
Luton Town vs Man City – Victor’s pick: 1-3
Luton have proven that they can make things difficult for big teams at Kenilworth Road, and I can see them causing Man City some problems at the back at some point in this match. However, quality always tells which is why I think that City will progress to the next round.
Chelsea vs Leeds – Victor’s pick: 2-0
Chelsea need to produce a big performance in front of their fans after their disappointing Carabao Cup loss against Liverpool. Pochettino will realise that this is his last opportunity to win any silverware this season, and I think that Chelsea will have too much for Leeds.
Nottingham Forest vs Man Utd – Victor’s pick: 1-2
This should be a competitive match – Forest have already beaten United at The City ground this season but now have a very real relegation battle on their hands after Everton’s point deduction was reduced to six. I think United will have too much for a Forest team that will likely be rotated.
Wolves vs Brighton – Victor’s pick: 1-0
These teams both play brilliant football – Wolves have gone under the radar and enjoyed a great season despite some shocking decisions going against them. I think they’ll have too much attacking quality for Brighton and will progress through to the next round.
Liverpool vs Southampton – Victor’s pick: 3-0
Liverpool are riding a wave right now after Jurgen Klopp’s departure announcement and their Carabao Cup win – this could get ugly for Southampton if they’re not careful!
