The UEFA Nations League continues throughout Friday, with national teams across Europe eager to make their mark in the first of two scheduled matches for this international break.
With crucial points on the line as teams look eager to pick up early points and gain momentum in the opening stages of the competition, each game is likely to be fiercely contested, providing plenty of drama and action.
With this, we are going to take a closer look at a selection of the UEFA Nations League matches set to take place throughout Friday: (odds available at time of writing)
France vs Italy
After finally making his long-awaited move to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Mbappe got off to a brilliant start for Los Blancos by scoring on his debut in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta.
While the Frenchman followed that by failing to score in his first three league matches, he scored a brace in his most recent match against Real Betis, leaving him in good form heading into this one.
Mbappe’s scoring record for France has been simply phenomenal throughout his career, scoring 48 in 84 caps, and we expect that to continue with yet another goal for Mbappe here.
Kylian Mbappe to score anytime, 2.15
Belgium vs Israel
Belgium may have had an extremely underwhelming Euro 2024, narrowly making it out of Group E in second place, with all four teams in the group finishing on four points, before making a round of 16 exit to France.
Their performances were poor throughout the entire tournament and they will be desperate to put out an improved showing against Israel on Friday.
Israel have lost both of the last two encounters between these two, and even with Belgium’s poor recent form, they possess much more talent in their squad, suggesting the hosts will win here.
Belgium to win & over 2.5 goals, 1.78
Wales vs Turkey
Turkey were one of the standout teams in Euro 2024, surprising people with a number of fantastic performances from individuals and the team as a whole.
They beat Austria in a hard-fought round of 16 tie between the tournament’s two dark horses, before narrowly losing to the Netherlands in the quarter-final, a game that Turkey could have won if they took their chances.
Wales, on the other hand, have struggled in recent times, most recently losing 4-0 to Slovakia, and with Turkey still full of confidence following their Euro 2024, we expect a comfortable win for the visitors.
Turkey to win, 2.86
Slovenia vs Austria
Alongside Turkey, Austria were the dark horses of Euro 2024 and certainly one of the best-performing sides across the entire tournament.
They fantastically topped a group consisting of France, Netherlands and Poland as they beat both Poland and Netherlands, narrowly losing to France on the opening day in a tightly-contested match.
Austria were unfortunate to be knocked out by Turkey in the round of 16 despite dominating the tie, creating 3.14xG to Turkey’s 0.92, but they will still be extremely pleased with their overall performances in each game.
They will come into this one looking to continue their recent strong run, and Slovenia, who failed to win a single game at the summer tournament, are unlikely to put up much of a fight against Ralf Rangnick’s men.
Austria to win, 2.15
