Ghana 2-1 Nigeria, 2008 – African Cup Of Nations

The two nations met in the 2008 AFCON quarter final stage, in a game that had everything, from goals to red cards and Ghana ended up winning 2-1 to book themselves a place in the semi-final.

The game was all square at half-time, and despite having a man sent off in the 60th minute, Ghana dramatically scored a late winner in the 83rd minute via Junior Agogo to earn his side the victory.

Ghana 1-0 Nigeria, 2010 – African Cup Of Nations

In the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria and Ghana matched up in the semi-final in what was a brilliant encounter, with neither team willing to back down, leading to a closely contested affair. 

Despite Asamoah Gyan scoring the only goal of the game to send Ghana to the final, the game was an excellent display for the neutral, with both sides leaving everything on the pitch due to what was at stake in the match.

Nigeria 3-0 Ghana, 2001- FIFA World Cup Qualifier 

Nigeria registered an emphatic 3-0 victory over their rivals in the 2001 World Cup qualifiers, after Tijani Babangida netted a brace and Victor Agali was also on the scoresheet.

The Super Eagles went on to qualify for the 2002 World Cup with Ghana consequently finishing fourth int he group, therefore failing to make it to the most prestigious tournament in international football.
