The latest reports are suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain are edging closer to luring Victor Osimhen to the club in the summer.
There has been conflict between the Nigerian striker and Napoli over the past year, so an exit away the Italian outfit is seemingly imminent, with several top clubs across Europe keen on signing the prolific goal scorer.
PSG are likely to be one of the few clubs that could afford the 25-year-old this summer, as Napoli will be keen to get as much as they can for their top scorer this term.
We picked out the reasons why he would be a perfect fit for PSG.
Mbappe replacement
Kylian Mbappe has already agreed to sign for Real Madrid in the summer, so it is no surprise that the French side are keen on replacing him with another striker that can provide goals such as Osimhen.
The French forward has scored an impressive 24 goals in 26 league games for PSG this term, so Osimhen would be a perfect replacement for him due to his proven goal scoring record.
Goal scoring record
Osimhen has proven that he can score goals consistently at the highest level, and despite being injured for large periods this campaign, he has still found the back of the net 16 times in 34 games in all competitions for club and country.
Last term for Napoli, Osimhen scored a whopping 26 league goals and then a further five goals in six appearances in the UEFA Champions League, which is the type of quality that PSG need in order to progress to the next level.
Long term option
At just 25-years-old, Osimhen still has plenty of time in his career to improve, so if he was to sign for PSG in the summer, then he could be someone that could help them push on a win a European trophy in the future.
The numbers that the Super Eagles forward has produced at such a young age are extremely impressive, so if he can kick on and improve on this even more, then it would be exciting times for the PSG faithful in years to come.
