The second half of the season has started & teams are already fighting to achieve their objectives from the season plus signing new players.
The selections for the weekend are below:
Dortmund vs St. Pauli
Borussia Dortmund made no mistake against a struggling Werder Bremen side in gameweek 17 as two late goals put the icing on a dominant 3-0 home win.
St. Pauli, meanwhile, remain in trouble down at the other end of the table. After seeing a game cancelled in gameweek 16, they were beaten 2-1 on the road by Wolfsburg after Dzenan Pejcinovic scored in the 88th minute.
This should be an easy win for Dortmund.
PREDICTION: Dortmund to win at 1.33
Wolfsburg vs FC Heidenheim
A late win was enough for all three points for Wolfsburg against St. Pauli. That victory ended a run of back-to-back league defeats and boosted Saturday’s hosts to 11th in the standings.
FC Heidenheim suffered a disastrous defeat against fellow strugglers Mainz 05 in midweek as goals either side of the break condemned Frank Schmidt’s side to a 2-1 away defeat.
FCH have now dropped to the bottom of the Bundesliga standings after picking up just one point from their last four league outings.
PREDICTION: Wolfsburg to win either halves at 1.33
RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich
RB Leipzig cruised to a 2-0 victory over Freiburg on Wednesday & that is a confidence booster ahead of Bayern clash. Saturday’s hosts ended a run of back-to-back league defeats with that result.
Bayern Munich found themselves trailing against a free-falling FC Köln side on Wednesday night, but Die Roten struck back in style to leave the RheinEnergieStadion with all three points.
Vincent Kompany’s men remain unbeaten in the league this season, with just four points dropped to draws.
PREDICTION: Both teams to score at 1.37
Napoli vs Sassuolo
Napoli will be hoping to get back to winning ways after three successive draws have left them six points behind current Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
Sassuolo are one of the worst form sides in the division, their 2-0 defeat to Roma last time out made it six games without a win and three defeats in six.
Napoli have won six head to head matches between these sides, scoring twenty-two goals and conceding just two.
PREDICTION: Napoli to win at 1.47
Udinese vs Inter Milan
Following Udinese’s disappointing 2-2 draw with bottom side Pisa last time out they face Serie A current league leaders Inter Milan.
Udinese have now won just one of their last five matches and have lost four of their last eight games.
Inter Milan are flying. Their 1-0 win against Lecce last time out made it eight wins from their last ten games.
Inter Milan currently find themselves six points clear at the top of Serie A.
PREDICTION: Inter Milan to win at 1.44
Cagliari vs Juventus
Following their 3-0 defeat to Genoa on Monday, Cagliari come into the game having not won in their last three games.
Juventus are a side in form, their 5-0 win over Cremonese last time out was their seventh game without defeat and they have conceded just two goals in those seven matches.
Juventus have won eight of the last ten matches between these sides, Juventus have also won eleven of their last thirteen visits here.
PREDICTION: Juventus to win at 1.52
Ipswich vs Blackburn
Ipswich enjoyed some additional rest ahead of their FA Cup tie with Blackpool after their Championship clash with Portsmouth was postponed.
Moussa Baradji’s brace was only enough to earn Blackburn a point against Charlton in their most recent league outing, as Rovers made it just two wins from 13 at home this season.
A penalty shoot-out defeat to Hull in the FA Cup means that spirits are low as they travel to Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.
PREDICTION: Ipswich to win either halves at 1.27
Coventry vs Leicester City
Coventry missed a golden opportunity to restore some confidence when they faced Stoke in the FA Cup last weekend, losing 1-0 to a late Lamine Cisse goal.
Leicester put the final nail in Ryan Mason’s coffin in gameweek 26 as a 2-1 home win, sealed in stoppage time by Abdul Fatawu, triggered a sacking from West Brom’s board.
This is a big game in the Championship this weekend.
PREDICTION: Coventry to win either halves at 1.30
