City are beatable

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Manchester City

Manchester City were the only side with a perfect record after six games played, but Wolverhampton Wanderers produced a shock result and managed to beat the reigning champions 2-1.

This result has proven to the rest of the league that City are certainly beatable, which will give teams confidence heading into the game against Pep’s side, as before it was looking like a mammoth task to get anything out of them.

Europe disrupting the flow

Aston Villa 6-1 Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton had started the 2023/24 campaign brilliantly as they had lost just once out of the opening six games, but Aston Villa completely outclassed the seagulls and managed to beat them 6-1.

This result is evidence that once you add the extra European games, it is difficult to balance the squad and rotate players in the correct way in order to continue to get positive results across all competitions.

Confidence booster for Luton

Everton 1-2 Luton Town

Things were looking bleak for Luton Town as they had picked up just one point from their opening six games, but an impressive away victory against Everton will give them a massive confidence booster moving forward.

The newly promoted side have now picked up four points from two games, and face Burnley at home in their next fixture. They will head into this game knowing that they having the credentials to get a result.

VAR drama strikes again

Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Liverpool

Spurs beat Liverpool 2-1 at the weekend, but the main talking points were the decisions made from the officials which arguably robbed Liverpool from taking home a point.

Luis Diaz burst through the Spurs back line and fired home but was deemed to be offside, but the footage from the game suggests that the Liverpool forward was in fact onside, causing great anger for the Reds faithful.
