3 Players To Take Arsenal To The Next Level

Arsenal have been linked with several players in what promises to be a busy summer transfer window for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s men had a season way above expectations, pushing Manchester City for the English Premier League title up until the final few weeks of the season.

The Gunners led the way at the top of the table for a large portion of the season, and were eight points clear in early April. However, key injuries and a lack of experience cost them dearly, and City ultimately won the league by five points.

Whilst Arsenal weren’t too far away from City, now having Champions League football to contend next term, means that the calibre of player needed will be significantly higher.

We take a look at three players who would potentially take Arsenal to a higher level.

Declan Rice

Declan Rice has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium since the end of last season but West Ham United are keen on keeping their man unless they are offered more than £100m.

It was recently reported that Arsenal had a second bid for Rice rejected, with West Ham making it clear that the Gunners will need to pay up in order to secure their man.

Rice has proven on the international stage what he can do against some of the world’s best players, and with the potential exit of Granit Xhaka this summer, he would certainly be an upgrade in that area of the pitch.

Moises Caicedo

Brighton & Hove Albion’s midfielder Moises Caicedo was in superb form last term which has sparked rumours that several UEFA Champions League clubs are interested in his signature, such as Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

Caicedo was on the brink of leaving Brighton in January for Arsenal but the transfer broke down, and it looks likely that he will be leaving the seaside club this summer.

The Colombian midfielder would certainly bring something that Arsenal do not have within their ranks, as his high energy mixed with quality on the ball could really accelerate Arteta’s midfield.

Kai Havertz

Havertz is the latest man linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium after recent reports suggesting that the Gunners have been in contact with Chelsea over a potential transfer.

The rumours suggest that Chelsea are putting a price tag of £75m on their attacker as several top clubs such as Arsenal and Bayern Munich are interested.

Havertz has been utilised as a solo striker for Chelsea, and although he has produced some important moments for the Blues, if he picked up a new role in a new system under Arteta then we could see a great transfer for both the player and the club this summer.
