Manchester City to win, 1.75 (odds at time of writing)
Manchester City vs Liverpool
Manchester City’s most recent game against Chelsea prior to the break proved to be an early game of the season contender, with it ending 4-4 thanks to a 94th minute penalty from former City player Cole Palmer.
Playing at home against Liverpool in their next game they’ll certainly be looking to rectify this result and take all three points, and with their recent home record against Liverpool they are sure to be confident. Liverpool haven’t won in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium since November 2015, but there’s no doubt that the Reds won’t be beaten easily.
Chelsea to win, 2.70
Newcastle United vs Chelsea
Newcastle United have gone through back-to-back defeats in their last games, with the most recent being a disappointing 2-0 loss to Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Chelsea have seen an upturn in form from their struggles in recent years with them losing just one of their last eight while scoring four in both their last two games against formidable opponents in Tottenham Hotspur and Man City.
While Newcastle pose a different type of opposition, with them being more defensive minded than the previously mentioned sides, the difference in form certainly indicates that Chelsea should win this one.
Everton to win, 2.74
Everton vs Manchester United
The international break ended up creating problems for both these sides with Manchester United’s Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford both sustaining injuries during the break. United are also likely to be without Rasmus Hojlund, Casemiro, Luke Shaw and others through injury.
As for Everton, they were deducted 10 points after being found guilty of breaching financial rules and could face further punishment if their recent set of accounts also breach the rules. This will undoubtedly rile up the Goodison Park crowd and with how Manchester United have played under pressure this season, we expect this may prove too much for them.
Heung-min Son to score anytime, 2.50
Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa
Heung-min Son has had a fantastic start to the season since taking on his new role as Tottenham’s main man after Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich in the summer. Eight goals and an assist in his 12 Premier League appearances puts him in good form coming into this one, and with five goals in his last seven against Aston Villa, we fancy him to get another.
