There are a host of high-stakes English Premier fixtures happening this weekend, with all of the country’s top sides in action as they look to make their way up the league table as we approach the end of the season.
We spoke to Bet9ja Ambassador Victor Ikpeba ahead of the games for his exclusive take on the matches, along with who he favours in each of them.

Newcastle vs Wolves – Victor’s pick: 1-1
Newcastle have looked all over the place recently, especially defensively in their 4-1 loss to Arsenal last weekend. Wolves, on the other hand, have been playing some exceptional football this season. I’d usually sway towards Wolves in this matchup but I feel like Newcastle’s victory in the FA Cup will have given them enough confidence to pick up at least a point in front of their fans.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace – Victor’s pick: 2-2
Tottenham have been in excellent form this season but recently haven’t been getting the exact results that they will have wanted. Crystal Palace look like a different team with their new manager and will hope that they can pick up some important points on the road. If they can get to North London with a strong team to pick from then I can see this one being a draw.
Nottingham Forest – Liverpool – Victor’s pick: 1-1
Liverpool have had an excellent week in both cup competitions, with their young players standing up to be counted and showing their worth to Jurgen Klopp. They are in a great run of form at the moment, but you can’t forget that Nottingham Forest are fighting for their life and have a good record at the City Ground. I can see this one finishing as a draw.
Brentford – Chelsea – Victor’s pick: 2-1
Chelsea scraped past Leeds in the FA Cup this week, which will be a massive relief for Mauricio Pochettino who is under pressure as Blues boss. However, Chelsea are far from the complete package as a side and prone to losing this exact type of game. Brentford will be licking their lips coming into this one.
Everton – West Ham – Victor’s pick: 1-0
Everton have had a positive week after their point deduction was reduced from 10 to six – Sean Dyche’s men have played well this season and will hope that Goodison Park will be rocking ahead of West Ham’s visit. The Hammers are coming in off the back of a convincing win against Brentford but I think Everton will nick this one.
Fulham – Brighton – Victor’s pick: 1-1
Two sides that play attractive football – Fulham come into this match after a late, late winner against Manchester United that will really boost the mood in West London, while Brighton will be looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw with Everton. I can see a draw in this one.
Luton vs Aston Villa – Victor’s pick: 1-0
Luton showed what they can do for parts of the match against Manchester City in midweek – they scored two spectacular goals against the best team in the world before eventually crumbling to the brilliance of Erling Haaland. Aston Villa have been excellent this season but I can sense a shock here – Luton have taken points off of top teams at home!
Burnley – Bournemouth – Victor’s pick: 0-2
Burnley look like they’re destined for relegation this season – Vincent Kompany’s men play a nice brand of football when they’re at their best, but Andoni Iraola has Bournemouth playing to his tune at the moment. I see an easy win for The Cherries.
Manchester City – Manchester United – Victor’s pick: 3-1
The biggest fixture of the week – Manchester City put six goals past United in this fixture last season, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see another dominant win for City. United had a nice run of form to start this year but I don’t think they’ll have enough to cope with the firepower that City have up front. Man City just look in the groove at the moment, but we have seen moments of magic decide this match out of the blue before!
Sheffield United – Arsenal – Victor’s pick: 0-4
Sheffield United have conceded the most goals in the league this season and will need a miracle to stay up. Arsenal, on the other hand, have been the best team in the league since the start of this year, and are scoring goals for fun both home and away. I can see The Gunners taking this one with ease.
