The 2024/25 English Premier League season is just a week away from kicking off, and we’re expecting more thrills and spills than ever as some of the world’s best teams face off against each other in a bid to lay hands on the most prized trophy in English football.
We spoke to Bet9ja Ambassador Victor Ikpeba who let us know who he fancies ahead of the EPL season along with the sides he expects to go down at the end of it.

Top 6 Prediction
The last couple of seasons Arsenal have run Manchester City really, really close in the English Premier League, and many are tipping them to be the team to finally steal Pep Guardiola’s crown. However, I think Guardiola has one more trick up his sleeve to take home a fifth EPL title before he potentially leaves Manchester City next summer.
Man City to win the EPL @2.15
Arsenal will run them close again, and then I see the top four being made up of Manchester United in third, Spurs in fourth and then Liverpool and Chelsea in fifth and sixth. I think that while Arne Slot’s side have looked good in pre-season, he might be in for a shock when the fixtures start coming thick and fast. I think that Chelsea look like they might have another difficult season again – I don’t understand their transfer policy at all!
Tottenham to finish top 4 @3.05
EPL Top Scorers
Erling Haaland was top scorer once again last season and I expect him to repeat the trick after a summer of rest. If Manchester City can keep Kevin De Bruyne fit for most of the season he will put chances on a plate for the Norwegian. I think he’ll take home the Player of the Season award, too.
Haaland top scorer @1.64
Mo Salah and Heung-Min Son make up second and third place in my top scorer predictions. You can’t state enough how important it is to have a full pre-season under your belt, and I think this will benefit them massively compared to a lot of the competition.
Surprise Player
I think West Ham United have done very well to sign Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund. The Hammers haven’t always signed well in forward positions, but Fullkrug is proven at the very top level, in both international competitions and in the UEFA Champions League.
Relegated Teams
I think that Ipswich Town and Southampton are going to go straight back down, unfortunately. I don’t see enough depth in either side’s squad for them to make a name for themselvee this season, and there definitely isn’t enough experience in their sides to drag them through tough moments.
Ipswich, Southampton & Bournemouth to go down booking code – 6WBCB5V
Bournemouth are my third team to go down, but only if they let Dominic Solanke leave. He was absolutely outstanding for Andoni Iraola’s team last season and was a large reason why they stayed up, but without him I could see them seriously struggling. It will be very interesting to see if he ends up moving to Tottenham in the next few weeks as it could influence both ends of the table.
