Arsenal keep the pressure on

Arsenal produced an impressive display on Sunday afternoon when they travelled to St James’ Park and came away with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Martin Odegaard and an own goal from Fabian Schar.

The Gunners currently sit one point behind Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side having a game in hand, so it remains in City’s hands with a few games left to play.

Mikel Arteta will know that realistically his side has to pick up maximum points from their remaining fixtures to give themselves a chance at winning the league, and a win away against third place Newcastle would have been a great confidence boost for the North London side.

Huge result for Everton

Against all odds, Everton came away from the Amex Stadium with a 5-1 victory, after the three goals in the first half for the Toffees proved too much for Brighton to come back from.

This victory meant that Sean Dyche saw his side climb out of the relegation zone to 17th, but he will know that the job is far from finished yet as they are just two points above the drop zone with three games left to play. However, this could be a pivotal result they can build on until the end of May.

Leicester on the brink

Leicester City dropped into the bottom three after they were on the receiving end of a 5-3 defeat away against Fulham and are in serious danger of being relegation to the EFL Championship.

The Foxes have tough fixtures in their remaining three games, as they have to face Liverpool and Newcastle in the next two matches, so they will have to pick up results against strong sides and hope that teams above them drop points if they want to remain a top flight club
