Victor Ikpeba previews the upcoming English Premier League and UEFA Champions League fixtures

With an exciting week of Premier League and UEFA Champions League action ahead, we spoke to Bet9ja Ambassador Victor Ikpeba about some of the most exciting fixtures coming up.

How do you think that Arsenal’s fixture with Chelsea will go this weekend?

VI: Arsenal are in a great run of form and unbeaten at the top of the table, but the beauty of the Premier League is that you never know what will happen. Chelsea started the season poorly but have won two matches on the bounce, so could be coming into a spell of good form.

Arsenal are a joy to watch despite playing more defensively this season and have a great manager, so this match will definitely be one to watch.

What did you make of Arsenal’s victory against Manchester City before the international break?

VI: It was a great match and a massive result for Arsenal, even if City were missing Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri. To limit Erling Haaland to no shots and Manchester City as a whole to just four is extremely impressive.

We can’t forget that Arsenal were missing Bukayo Saka, who is their star man. The deflected goal that went in off Ake was a little bit lucky but Arsenal made their own luck and deserved the win for how well they played. It will be great for them to beat City after so long without a win against them.

This week there are some huge fixtures in the UEFA Champions Champions League. Which ones stand out to you most?

VI: I think the group of death with PSG, Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan has amazing fixtures every matchday. I think Newcastle even shocked themselves with how well they played against PSG as they won 4-1, and will be expecting to get a similar result against Dortmund.

The Saint James’ Park crowd make a massive difference, and Newcastle’s high-energy style of play fits perfectly with it. This week could be a pivotal set of fixtures because of how the points sit in the group. If Newcastle and PSG win against Dortmund and AC Milan, they will be in the driving seat but if they lose then the group is blown wide open.
