4 Players Liverpool Need This Month To Win The EPL

Liverpool are in with a great chance of winning the English Premier League this season for just the second time since the league’s inception in 1992.

The Reds currently sit top of the table, with Manchester City just two points behind them, so Jurgen Klopp knows that he will have Pep Guardiola’s side breathing down their necks all the time that they are top.

With star man Mohamed Salah currently away on international duty with Egypt at AFCON, Klopp might be keen to get some players in the door soon to soften the impact of his absence.

We picked out four players that they need this January to help them get over line and lift the title.

Rayan Ait-Nouri, Wolverhampton Wanderers

Rayan Ait-Nouri has impressed so far this season for Wolverhampton Wanderers, showing his qualities in both attack and defence, and would be a great asset to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Andy Robertson has been sidelined for a major part of this season, with Joe Gomez filling in recently at left-back, so Klopp might be keen to get a natural full-back in the door who could act as cover and healthy competition for the Scottish international when he returns.

Levi Colwill, Chelsea

Levi Colwill has been excellent over the past 18 months for Brighton & Hove Albion and more recently Chelsea, and at just 20-years-old could be a great long-term option for the Reds.

The regular centre-back pairing at Liverpool consists of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, but if either of these two get injured, then the Liverpool back four gets significantly weaker, so having Colwill within their ranks would certainly resolve this issue.

Douglas Luiz, Aston Villa

Douglas Luiz has stepped up his game in the heart of the Aston Villa midfield this term, being a vital part to his sides success as they currently sit third in the league standings.

The midfield is arguably Liverpool’s weakest area of the pitch, with Klopp chopping and changing who he picks in the starting XI, but if Luiz was to sign, then he could form a formidable trio with summer signings Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.

Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan

Lautaro Martinez has been in red hot form this term for Inter Milan, netting 18 times in 17 Serie A appearances and would strengthen the Reds front line to add the goals that have been missing at times.

Although Darwin Nunez has been a threat up-top for the Reds this term, he has netted just five times in the league, which means Klopp might be keen to add a prolific goal scorer to bolster his chances of lifting the title come May.
