20 English Premier League Wonderkids To Watch Out For In The 2024/25 Season

As the 2024/25 English Premier League season approaches, anticipation builds not only to see the established stars but also for the upcoming generation of talent ready to make their mark. Across the league, promising youngsters are poised to step into the limelight, bringing a fresh sense of energy and excitement to their clubs.

From Arsenal’s 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri to Tottenham Hotspur’s 19-year-old Jamie Donley, there is plenty of young talent that have shown glimpses of their potential and are on the verge of a breakout season.

In this article, we pick out one youngster from each Premier League club that could explode next season, transforming from promising prospects to household names:

AFC Bournemouth – Alex Scott

The English midfielder was brought in from Bristol City ahead of last season and while he did impress in his 998 minutes in the Premier League, he was largely used as a rotation option for Bournemouth. We believe that this season Scott will earn his place in the starting squad and show his immense talent.

Arsenal – Ethan Nwaneri

Nwaneri holds the record for the youngest player to appear in the Premier League when he was brought on as a substitute at just 15-years-old. While he has only gone on to appear one further time in the top flight, we believe this could be the season that the now 17-year-old makes his mark.

Aston Villa – Kadan Young

Young is yet to make a first-team appearance for Aston Villa but the winger has been impressive in his time playing for the under-21 teams. With Villa now set to have an extremely busy schedule with the addition of UEFA Champions League football, Young could be called up to play his part in the senior side this season.

Brentford – Yehor Yarmoliuk

The Ukrainian played 653 minutes in the Premier League last campaign, largely off the bench, and multiple promising displays could lead to the midfielder being used on a more regular basis this season.

Brighton – Valentin Barco

Barco has been touted as one of the most talented young prospects in world football in the last few years, and Brighton eventually beat Manchester City to his signature in last campaign. The Argentinian made just seven appearances for Brighton, but the Seagulls certainly know how to develop promising talents, and we expect Barco to grow into a brilliant player this year.

Chelsea – Lesley Ugochukwu

Ugochukwu made just 15 appearances for Chelsea after his transfer to the London club last season, impressing in his limited minutes. We believe that Enzo Maresca, who gave young players plenty of opportunity at Leicester last season, will give the midfielder more time to showcase his talent in the Premier League this time around.

Crystal Palace – Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

The departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich this summer opens the door for a right-sided left-footed winger, and Rak-Sakyi could be the perfect option from their youth ranks.

He had a fantastic campaign in League One for Charlton Athletic in 2022/23, and went on to make limited appearances for the Palace first-team last season. We believe Rak-Sakyi will make the most of Olise’s departure this campaign though, becoming a regular for the senior side.

Everton – Stanley Mills

Everton have very few young players to choose from for this list, and we have decided to pick out Stanley Mills.

The winger played a large part in Oxford United’s promotion into the EFL Championship last season, and we believe he could show his talent at the highest level in limited minutes for the Everton first-team this season.

Fulham – Jay Stansfield

Stansfield has impressed out-on-loan in the previous two seasons, scoring goals at both League One and Championship level. The striker is now expected to stay at Fulham with them wanting to give him minutes in the Premier League, and we expect him to continue displaying his fantastic goalscoring talent.

Ipswich Town – Cameron Humphreys

Cameron Humphreys has been a part of the Ipswich team that has earned back-to-back promotions in the past two seasons. While he played a small role in the Championship last campaign, we believe he could step up and make his mark in the top flight.

Leicester City – Caleb Okoli

The young Italian has been rumoured to join some of Europe’s biggest teams in the past years, and Leicester will be delighted that they could snatch his signature ahead of their return to the Premier League. Okoli will now get the chance to show his fantastic potential, and we believe he will excel in this side.

Liverpool – Conor Bradley

Tasked with stepping into Trent Alexander-Arnold’s position when the world-class full-back was absent last season, Bradley excelled and went on to make plenty of first-team appearances. We expect more of the same from Bradley this season, with the addition of playing a larger role in the squad with rumours of Alexander-Arnold moving into the midfield.

Manchester City – Oscar Bobb

Bobb made plenty of appearances for Man City last campaign, featuring in 26 games across all competitions, and made a good impression in that time. Heading into the next campaign, we believe the winger will step up his game yet again and show why the club have such faith in him.

Manchester United – Amad Diallo

Diallo has played just 548 minutes in the Premier League since joining Manchester United in 2020. However, reports have stated that the winger will play a big part in the upcoming season, and we believe he could become a main starter in this team.

Newcastle United – Lewis Miley

Miley played a large role in Newcastle’s midfield last season, including fantastic performances against the likes of PSG and AC Milan in the Champions League. Now set for his first full season, we believe the midfielder will cement himself as one of the club’s most important players.

Nottingham Forest – Zach Abbott

Abbot has previously been picked out as one of the best young talents at any Premier League club but has yet to make a senior appearance. Now the defender is 18, we believe Forest will give him his chance in the first team to show his talent.

Southampton – Ronnie Edwards

Edwards had been linked with multiple of England’s biggest clubs during his time at Peterborough United, eventually opting for a smart move to Southampton where first-team opportunities will be more likely.

We expect the central defender to earn plenty of minutes in the top flight and show the talent that earned him links to some of the top clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur – Jamie Donley

The young striker has long been coined as Harry Kane’s heir at Tottenham, and after breaking into the first team last year, making three Premier League appearances, we believe this will be the year that Donley shows his goalscoring talents on the biggest stage.

West Ham United – George Earthy

Earthy made four senior appearances for the club last year, scoring in the Premier League in that time, and we expect to see the attacking midfielder become more of a regular first-team player this campaign.

Wolverhampton Wanderers – Rodrigo Gomes

The wide midfielder was brought in this summer for just over £12 million after an impressive campaign for Estoril in Portugal, and Gomes will be looking to make his mark on the Premier League this time around.
