The English Premier League is set to make a triumphant return on Friday night, marking the beginning of the 2024-25 season. The games will continue throughout the weekend and they are sure to provide fans with plenty of excitement as teams battle to get off to the perfect start, with new signings and established stars both trying to make their mark.
In this article, we’re going to look at a selection of the upcoming Premier League fixtures, picking out our top tips and booking codes:
Manchester United vs Fulham
Manchester United and Fulham will kick off the new Premier League season as they match up on Friday night, and Erik ten Hag will be desperate to have a positive start after a dismal 2023-24 league campaign.
Man Utd had a mixed pre-season, winning two and losing three of their five matches, and while they put out a strong performance against Manchester City in the Community Shield, they fell to a penalty defeat after conceding an equaliser late on.
As for Fulham, they failed to match their 10th-placed finish in 2022/23, instead dropping to 13th in the league, although they did finish just five points behind ninth-placed West Ham United. Marco Silva’s side have proven to be a tough customer for Man United in recent years, including a 2-1 victory in their last meeting at Old Trafford, but we believe that the hosts will manage to pick up a narrow victory to kickstart a new campaign.

Arsenal vs Wolves
After narrowly missing out on the Premier League title in each of the last two seasons, Mikel Arteta’s men will be desperate to finally win the club their first league trophy since 2003/04. While they have not been very busy in the transfer market so far, only adding Riccardo Calafiori and David Raya (who returns on a permanent basis), their existing squad is already one of the best in the division.
Wolves, on the other hand, finished 14th in the league last year but have already lost multiple key players in the window, with Pedro Neto and Max Kilman both departing. Those losses have left many predicting Wolves to find themselves in a relegation battle this year, and they are sure to struggle against Arsenal.
With Arsenal having the second-best attack last year, scoring 91 times, and having the best defence, conceding just 29, we believe they will be dominant here and pick up an early big victory to mark their title ambitions.

West Ham vs Aston Villa
West Ham picked up a solid ninth-placed finish last year to place as the ‘best of the rest’ behind the top eight in the Premier League. The Hammers have made a number of impressive signings as they look to break into that top eight this season, similar to what Aston Villa achieved last season, including Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, Niclas Fullkrug and others, sure to make them a formidable side this year.
Aston Villa did break into the top Premier League sides last year, securing a fourth-placed finish to give them Champions League football this year. They have lost the services of Douglas Luiz and Moussa Diaby during the transfer window, while their notable signing is Everton’s Amadou Onana. While those departures do make their squad weaker and they may struggle with the added pressure of competing in both the Champions League and Premier League, we believe they are set for another good season.
West Ham have improved their squad thoroughly in the window, while Aston Villa are likely to have another positive season, and we believe both sides appear evenly matched on paper, suggesting this one will end all square.

Chelsea vs Manchester City
Chelsea have made several signings this summer, most notably bringing in Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, while Enzo Maresca has also taken charge as the new manager. The club have struggled to match their huge success in the 2000s and 2010s in recent years, and Maresca will have a big job of improving their standings in the league while juggling a huge squad full of stars.
Manchester City, on the other hand, have been the team to beat since the arrival of Pep Guardiola and come into this campaign having lifted their record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title last year.
Guardiola’s side are likely to compete for top spot once again this season, and with Maresca being an unknown quantity as he takes charge of his first Premier League game, we believe City will win this one.
